OPTICAL RESIN COMPOSITION AND FILM
Disclosed herein are an optical resin composition whose orientation birefringence and photoelastic birefringence are both very low and which has high transparency and which provides a film having few surface defects and excellent mechanical strength, and a film comprising the optical resin composition. Also disclosed herein is a film that has optical isotropy and excellent transparency even after stretching.
The optical resin composition contains a thermoplastic resin and a multistep-polymerized graft copolymer obtained by polymerizing, in the presence of crosslinked polymer-containing particles formed by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing a monomer represented by the following formula (4) and a polyfunctional monomer, a monomer mixture containing a monomer represented by the following formula (4) and another monofunctional monomer copolymerizable therewith.

Disclosed herein are an optical resin composition whose orientation birefringence and photoelastic birefringence are both very low and which has high transparency and which provides a film having few surface defects, high heat stability, high solvent resistance, and excellent surface appearance, and a film comprising the optical resin composition.
The optical resin composition comprises: a resin (A) having a maleimide unit represented by the formula (5) and a (meth)acrylic ester unit; and a glutarimide acrylic resin (B). The resin composition may further comprise multi-layered particles.

Water- and oil-proofing composition, method for its production, article and water- and oil-proof paper
A water- and oil-proofing composition which can provide an article with high utility oil resistance is provided. A water- and oil-proofing composition comprising a fluorinated polymer comprising units based on the following monomer (a) and units based on the following monomer (b), a fatty acid ester of polyglycerin and an aqueous medium: Monomer (a): a compound represented by CH.sub.2CHR.sup.f (wherein R.sup.f is a C.sub.1-8 perfluoroalkyl group). Monomer (b): a monomer copolymerizable with the monomer (a).
BLOWN FILM COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING NANOCOMPOSITE AND COMPATIBILIZER
Disclosed is a composition useful for forming blown films. The composition includes (a) an ungrafted ethylene-based polymer, (b) a nanocomposite containing a polyamide and montmorillonite, (c) a compatibilizer comprising a maleic anhydride grafted ethylene-methyl acrylate copolymer and/or a maleic anhydride grafted ethylene-butyl acrylate copolymer, and (d) optionally, an ethylene-vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer. Also disclosed is a blown film made from a composition containing an ungrafted ethylene-based polymer, a nanocomposite containing a polyamide and montmorillonite, a compatibilizer comprising a maleic anhydride grafted ethylene-based polymer, and optionally, an EVOH copolymer. These films can have improved optical and/or mechanical properties compared to films made without the nanocomposite.
