Functionalized polymer particles for use as toughening agent
Composite materials and structural adhesives containing particles of functionalized polymers as a toughening agent. The particles are composed of functionalized polyaryletherketone (PAEK) polymer or copolymer thereof that contain chemical functional groups capable of reacting with a thermoset resin component to form covalent bonds.

The present disclosure provides a modified resin composition, a preparation method and use thereof. The raw materials of the modified resin composition includes: 65 to 100 parts by mass of a matrix resin, 10 to 40 parts by mass of a phenoxy resin, 0.5 to 25 parts by mass of nano silicon dioxide, 2 to 15 parts by mass of a curing agent, 0 to 2 parts by mass of a curing accelerator, and 0 to 1 part by mass of a coupling agent. The modified resin composition has excellent toughness, excellent processability during mechanical punching process, a relatively low powder loss rate, and excellent bonding performance and heat resistance.

A reinforced polyetherimide composition includes 50 to 99.9 weight percent of a polymer composition comprising a polyetherimide having a weight average molecular weight of 5,000 to 80,000 Daltons; 10 to 40 weight percent of a reinforcing filler; 0.1 to 10 weight percent of flow promoter, wherein the flow promoter comprises an aromatic phosphate, a phosphazene, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing; 0 to 20 weight percent of a liquid crystalline polymer; wherein weight percent is based on the total weight of the reinforced polyetherimide composition; and wherein the composition has a melt flow rate (MFR) that is at least 10% higher than that of the same reinforced polyetherimide composition without the flow promoter, and a capillary melt viscosity that is at least 10% lower than that of the same reinforced polyetherimide composition without the flow promoter.

This invention relates to polymer polyols comprising the free-radical polymerization product of a base polyol, at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and, optionally, a preformed stabilizer, in the presence of at least one free-radical polymerization initiator and at least one chain transfer agent, in which the base polyol is a polyether carbonate polyol. A process for preparing these polymer polyols is also described. This invention also relates to a polyurethane foam prepared from these polymer polyols and to a process for the preparation of these polyurethane foams.
MACROPOROUS CHITOSAN-POLYACRYLAMIDE HYDROGEL MICROSPHERES AND PREPARATION THEREOF
Disclosed is a macroporous polymeric hydrogel microsphere that contains polyacrylamide and chitosan. The hydrogel microsphere, having a diameter of 50-250 m and an average pore size of 1-60 nm, is capable of transporting biomolecules conjugated to it. Also disclosed is a method of fabricating the microsphere based on a micromolding technique utilizing surface tension-induced droplet formation followed by photo-induced polymerization.
