Green epoxy resin with biobinder from manure
A curable green epoxy resin composition is described. More particularly, the curable green epoxy resin composition includes a biobinder isolated from bio-oil produced from animal waste, such as from swine manure. The biobinder can act as a curing agent for an epoxy resin component in the resin composition. Cured green epoxy resins, prepregs containing the curable green epoxy resin, and related composite materials are described. In addition, methods of preparing the curable green epoxy resin composition and of curing the curable green epoxy resin.
Crosslinked Polyolefin Separator and Manufacturing Method Therefor
A crosslinked polyolefin separator which has gels with a longer side length of 50 μm or more in a number ranging from 0 to 3 per 1 m.sup.2 of the separator, and shows a standard deviation of absorbance ratio between the center of the separator and the side thereof ranging from 0.01 to 0.5 is provided. A method for manufacturing the crosslinked polyolefin separator is also provided. The method includes (S1) preparing a polyolefin porous membrane, and (S2) applying a coating solution containing an initiator and alkoxy group-containing vinylsilane onto at least one surface of the porous membrane. The coating solution can permeate even to the inside of exposed pores. Thus, it is possible to provide a crosslinked polyolefin separator in which silane crosslinking occurs uniformly even inside of the pores.
Polymer composition for producing gel extruded articles and polymer articles made therefrom
A polymer composition for producing gel extruded articles is described. The polymer composition contains polyethylene particles combined with a plasticizer. The polyethylene particles are particularly selected so that the particles rapidly form a homogeneous gel-like material when combined with the plasticizer during gel processing. In one embodiment, the polyethylene used to produce the particles has a relatively low bulk density. Alternatively or in addition, the particles can have a carefully controlled particle size distribution. Polymer articles such as fibers and films can be produced having little to no imperfections.
PHENOLIC FOAM
A phenolic foam formed from a composition comprising a phenolic resin, a blowing agent, an acid catalyst, and a surfactant comprising: (i) an ethoxylated castor oil, and (ii) a polysiloxane comprising a side chain comprising polyethylene oxide wherein the total molecular weight of the polyethylene oxide of the side chain comprises less than 50% of the total molecular weight of the polysiloxane.
Plastics coloring using cottonseed oil-based liquid color compositions
A method of fabricating plastic products having a preselected color, comprising preparing a dispersion of pigment of the preselected color in cottonseed oil; supplying a preselected plastic resin for the product to be fabricated to a process machine having a rotating screw; furnishing the dispersion to the process machine at a position adjacent to threaded portion of the rotating screw; and blending the dispersion and the resin by rotating the screw.
Rubberized textile material for a belt ply, associated rubber mixture and belt
The rubberized textile material for a belt textile ply is provided on at least one side of a textile web with a peroxidically crosslinkable ethylene-alpha-olefin-diene terpolymer rubber mixture, preferably an EPDM mixture. In this rubberization mixture the third monomer content (diene content) of the EPDM is preferably at least 4% and the rubber mixture contains: a peroxidic crosslinker, a mineral oil having an aromatics proportion of at least 50 percent by weight and at least one reactive phenol and/or reactive phenol resin capable of binding to the double bonds of unsaturated polymers. The reactive phenol and/or phenol resin and the mineral oil are present in the rubber mixture in a content of altogether 5 to 60 phr. The rubberization has an exceptional manufacturing tack coupled with good adhesion and good dynamic properties.
Binder composition
The invention relates to an aqueous binder composition for mineral fibers comprising at least one polyelectrolytic hydrocolloid.
EVA thermoplastic compounds, methods thereof, and articles therefrom
Compositions may include a polymer composition prepared from an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, a rubber, and a plasticizer. Compositions may further comprise other components, such as a curing agent and a blowing agent. Articles may include a polymer composition prepared from an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, a rubber, and a plasticizer. Methods may include mixing an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, a rubber, and a plasticizer; and extruding the mixture thereof.
PARTICULATE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PARTICULATE
A powdery and/or granular material which achieves excellent dispersibility of fine polymer particles in a matrix resin is provided. The powdery and/or granular material contains specific fine polymer particles (A) and a specific resin (B), and has pores with an average pore diameter of 0.03 μm to 1.00 μm, where a total volume of the pores is not less than 0.0600 mL/g.
Dialkyl peroxide composition for modifying the rheology of polypropylene in molten state
The present invention relates to a liquid composition comprising at least one dialkyl peroxide, in liquid form at ambient temperature, at a content comprised within a range of from 75 to 77% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition, and at least one mineral oil with viscosity greater than 15 mPa.Math.s, measured at a temperature of 10° C. and at a shear rate of 1000 s.sup.−1. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of said composition to modify the melt rheology of the polypropylene.
