20220378974 · 2022-12-01 ·

A hemostatic material is described, which eliminates the risks of conventional chitosan-derived products, such as the onset of shellfish allergy and endotoxin contamination, can be used safely for more people, and has an antibacterial property and a hemostatic function that widely-used hydrogels lack, and a wound dressing containing the same. A hemostatic material containing cationized cellulose and a wound dressing containing the hemostatic are described. At least one of hydroxyl groups of the cationized cellulose is modified with —R.sup.2—N.sup.+(R.sup.3)(R.sup.4)(R.sup.5)X.sup.−, other hydroxyl groups of the cationized cellulose have —H, or —(CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.m—H, R.sup.2 represents C.sub.1-6 alkylene, C.sub.2-6 hydroxyalkylene, —(CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.1—, or a combination thereof, 1 represents 1 or 2, m represents 1 or 2, and X.sup.− may represent an anionic group.

ARTIFICIAL CARTILAGE

Artificial cartilage materials for repair and replacement of cartilage, such as load-bearing and articular cartilage. The artificial cartilage materials can include a hydrogel with an internal polymer support network that impart the hydrogel mechanical properties similar to that of natural cartilage. In some examples, the hydrogels include a cross-linked cellulose network and a double network of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and polyacrylamide-methyl propyl sulfonic acid (PAMPS) polymers. The hydrogels may include specific formulations of different polymers to impart mechanical properties that are within a cartilage equivalent range. The artificial cartilage materials may include a porous base that is bonded to the hydrogel for interfacing with surrounding tissues and promoting ingrowth of bone and/or cartilage. Thus, the materials may be well suited for forming a synthetic graft, such as an osteochondral graft, for implantation into a patient's body.

BIOMIMETIC THREE-DIMENSIONAL DEVICE FOR DELIVERY OF THERAPEUTIC CELLS AND METHOD OF MAKING DEVICE
20220354993 · 2022-11-10 ·

A cell delivery device and a method of producing a three dimensional device which is vascularized when implanted or topologically applied to human or animal body. Cell laden hydrogel (cells mixed with hydrogel) is casted or injected or 3D bioprinted in a leaf-like form, which contains removable parts (templates). After crosslinking, the templates are removed and the channel for vascularization is created. The device is ready for use in vitro or in vivo.
