An adhesive film for polarizing plates, a polarizing plate including the same, and an optical display including the same are provided. The adhesive film for polarizing plates is formed of an adhesive composition comprising: a (meth)acrylic copolymer; an adhesion promoter; a mixture of an isocyanate curing agent and a carbodiimide curing agent; and a UV absorbent, and the adhesive film has a glass transition temperature of about −47° C. to −40° C., and the adhesive film has a light transmittance of about 3% or less at a wavelength of about 380 nm.

A tire composition is disclosed. The composition comprises a rubber component and based on 100 parts by weight (phr) of the rubber component, 50-200 phr of covered silica, with the covered silica comprising silica core and a first resin covering the silica core, wherein the first resin is not chemically bonded to the silica core. The present disclosure relates to methods and an apparatus for extracting terpenes and rosin from resinous wood with an agent that comprises, consists or consists essentially of a terpene to thereby extract the rosin and/or terpene fractions from the resinous wood. The apparatus for extracting rosin and/or terpene fractions comprises a treatment chamber for treating the resinous wood with the agent. The treatment chamber is in communication with a distillation chamber for separating the rosin and terpene fractions extracted from the resinous wood.

The inventors have discovered hot melt adhesive compositions that can be formulated to have a high percentage of environmentally conscious components and still provide performance over a broad temperature range.

The invention features a hot melt adhesive composition including from 5% by weight to 50% by weight of a thermoplastic polymer, from 10% by weight to 80% by weight of a bio-based tackifying agent, and from 2% by weight to 50% by weight of an environmentally conscious aliphatic plasticizer having a cyclo-aliphatic content of no more than 2% by weight as tested by .sup.1H-NMR Spectroscopy.
