The method includes instructing the wearer to lift the garment to form a gathered portion of the garment, form a loop shape with the strap around the gathered portion, and utilize the ring to retain the strap in the loop shape to hold the gathered portion in a fixed position relative to the wearer to expose a breast for nursing.

A firefighter's protective garment including an outer shell, moisture barrier and thermal barrier in which the thermal barrier is constructed with spacers on its inner surface such that air can circulate between the garment and the firefighter wearing it. The garment redistributes metabolic heat over a larger surface area, and increases metabolic cooling and firefighter comfort. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the spacers are strategically attached to those areas of the thermal barrier which find themselves opposite those parts of the human body having the highest rates of perspiration and metabolic heat transfer.

The upper body section comprises a halter strap forming a portion of a loop of a head opening on the upper body section. The halter strap includes two front side portions and a rear side portion positioned between the front side portions. The rear side portion is coupled to the athletic garment only with the front side portions of the halter strap.

A strap having a clip at one end and a ring at an opposite end secure the garment. The clothing clip apparatus attaches to a collar of the garment. The strap is dropped inside the garment, and the user grabs the ring and lifts the garment into a position for nursing the child. The ring is positioned over a top end of the clip to form a loop with the strap around the garment. Magnetic attraction between the ring and a magnet retains the garment in the desired position. The method of securing the garment using the clothing clip apparatus may be performed by the woman using one hand without assistance. A system holds a cover over the garment.
