The hydrophobically modified particles may be derived from hydrophilic particles modified with organic moieties. The hydrophobically modified particles may also take in the form of core-shell fibers with hydrophilic particles encapsulated inside the core of said fibers or in the form of monolithic fibers embedded with hydrophilic particles. The method for making hydrophobic polymeric composite comprising each of the various hydrophobically modified particles is also provided. The hydrophobic polymer matrix can be chosen from poly(alpha-hydroxyesters), of carbonates, polyurethanes or polyalkanoates. For example, hydrophilic particles, such as barium sulphate, zirconium oxide, tantalum oxide or bismuth oxide, are dispersed in the hydrophobic biodegradable polymers, such as poly-(L-lactide) (PLLA).

Dustless powder materials

This invention relates to a coated powder material containing a powder material having a surface layer that has been chemically immobilized with one or more surface-active agents and coated with an oil. The surface-active agents are present in an amount of at least about 0.1% by weight, based on the powder material; the oil is present in an amount ranging from about 0.1 to 180% by weight, based on the powder material; and the combined weight percentage of the surface-active agents and oil is at least about 4.0% by weight, based on the powder material. The oil-absorption rate of the powder material ranges from about 0.01 to about 0.70 gram of oil per gram of dry powder. The coated powder material is useful as a cosmetic.

METHOD FOR TESTING THE IN SITU SILANIZATION OF BRIGHT FILLERS

The invention relates to a method of testing silanization, which permits inline control of the in situ silanization of light-colored fillers, especially precipitated silicas. This enables continuous in situ silanization in the production of rubber mixtures comprising silanized light-colored fillers, and representative control of the rubber mixture under production conditions. The process is additionally nondestructive and has a high tolerance for carbon black as an additional constituent of the rubber mixture.

The present invention relates to a soft magnetic nanowire, comprising an iron and a boron and having an average length of 5 ?m or more and an iron/boron molar ratio in the nanowire of less than 5, wherein the iron/boron molar ratio is measured by a SEM-EDS method.

Thermochromic silicone rubber composite heat dissipation pad and preparation method thereof

A silicone rubber composite heat dissipation pad and a preparation method thereof are provided. The method includes: dispersing hydroxyl-functionalized boron nitride nanosheet powder into deionized water, pouring it into a specialized container, pre-freezing it using liquid nitrogen, and then freeze-drying it to obtain a boron nitride nanosheet skeleton arranged in a horizontal direction; uniformly dispersing thermochromic nanoparticles in acetone to obtain a dispersion, mixing the dispersion with liquid silicone rubber and stirring until acetone is completely evaporated, then adding a curing agent to obtain a liquid silicone rubber pre-cure solution; pouring the liquid silicone rubber pre-cure solution into a container containing the boron nitride nanosheet skeleton, so that the liquid silicone rubber pre-cure solution is fully immersed in an interior of the boron nitride nanosheet skeleton; and then curing is carried out by elevating the temperature to obtain the heat dissipation pad.
