Biocidal roofing granules, roofing products including such granules, and process for preparing same
Biocidal roofing granules are prepared by providing a mineral core and at least one biocidal photocatalytic metal oxide. A gel-forming inorganic coating medium is prepared and used to coat the mineral core to form a coating layer having a porous network on the mineral core, and the at least one biocidal photocatalytic metal oxide is disposed in the porous network.
Method of Recovering Inorganic Pigment
A method of recovering an inorganic pigment from a coating composition, the method comprising a step of adding polyethylene glycol to the coating composition. The invention also concerns a coating composition comprising an inorganic pigment composition recovered according to the method, and the use of polyethylene glycol in the recovery of inorganic pigment from a coating composition.
THE METHOD OF PRODUCING PIGMENT FROM FILTER SLUDGE AND ITS APPLICATION
The subject of the invention is a method for the production of pigment from filtration sludges containing manganese and iron and phosphates, characterised in that the filter sludge is sieved on a vibrating sieve, then the suspension is concentrated and dried to a water content below 8% w/w, after which the material is subjected to thermal treatment at a temperature in the range of 500-1200? C. for a period of 6-12 hours, and the obtained sinter is fragmented and optionally dried to a moisture level of 5%. The invention also relates to using the pigment produced by the foregoing method colouring construction ceramic products or as a colouring additive to the mass from which construction products are formed or as a colouring additive for concrete.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A GRANULATED METAL OXIDE POWDER AND CORRESPONDING GRANULATED METAL OXIDE POWDER
A method for producing a granulated metal oxide powder and corresponding granulated metal oxide powder includes obtaining an initial metal oxide powder, consisting of particles of a metal oxide, by hydrolysing a chloride of the metal and forming a suspension containing the initial metal oxide powder and an organic binder suspended in a suspension medium. The method also includes drying the suspension so as to obtain granulated metal oxide powder, consisting of grains formed by agglomerates of particles of the initial metal oxide powder.
Particulate filler with reduced dust formation, method for its preparation and its use
A method for the preparation of a particulate filler with slight dust formation suitable for use in composite materials, wherein the mean particle size of the filler measured by air jet sieving and/or Sedigraph is 300 m and is characterised by the following steps: Providing carrier particles which have an average particle size measured by air jet sieving and/or Sedigraph 300 m, providing a silane, siloxane and/or silicone, providing a paraffin oil, preparing a liquid coating compound by mixing the silane, siloxane and/or silicone with the paraffin oil and optionally further components, coating the carrier particles with the coating compound in a mixing device. The invention also relates to a particulate filler with slight dust formation and the use of such a particulate filler as a filler in a casting slip and/or a composite material, i.e. also a composite material comprising a binder and such a filler.
