In various embodiments, the hair extensions separator has a comb-like structure used in conjunction with the plurality of lateral grooves to aid in separating the hair. In other embodiments, the hair extensions separator may further comprise adjustable sizes of the plurality of lateral grooves.

The continuous strand may implement a multi step-pencil tapering (MS-PT) effect that presents significantly improved aesthetic characteristics for a wig, without resorting to a labor-intensive manual operation.

An apparatus is provided for attaching a hair extension to the recipient's hair. The apparatus comprises a mechanism for crimping a fastener to attach the hair extension; and a shield mechanism for preventing the fastener from contacting the recipient's scalp as the fastener is being crimped.
