Surface coatings, treatments, and methods for removal of mineral scale by self-release
In some aspects, the present invention relates generally to self-release compositions and methods useful for the removal or prevention of mineral scaling and, more particularly, to surface coatings and surface treatments that resist, prevent, or aid in removal of mineral scaling. In some aspects, the self-release coating includes a polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane and a thermoplastic or an additive.
HYPROMELLOSE ACETATE SUCCINATE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME AND COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME
Provided are hypromellose acetate succinate (HPMCAS) which exhibits high solubility and can suppress generation of undissolved materials when dissolved in a solvent; an HPMCAS-containing composition; and a method for producing the HPMCAS. More specifically, provided are HPMCAS having a ratio of 2-position MS to 3-position MS of 1.2 or less, wherein the 2-position MS means a molar substitution of hydroxypropyl group by which a hydrogen atom of a hydroxyl group on 2-position carbon of each glucose unit of the HPMCAS has been directly replaced, and the 3-position MS means a molar substitution of hydroxypropyl group by which a hydrogen atom of a hydroxyl group on 3-position carbon of each glucose unit of the HPMCAS has been directly replaced; a composition comprising the HPMCAS and a solvent; and the method for producing the HPMCAS.
Durable and Superhydrophobic Over Coating
An overcoat that imparts a superhydrophobic surface to a painted surface of an object is a suspension of hydrophobic particles in a polymeric binder and a plasticizer in a solvent or mixed solvent. The particles are a metal oxide that is surface functionalized with a fluorinated alkyl silane or an alkyl silane. Surfaces coated using this paint display contact angles in excess of 150° and resist abrasion while retaining superhydrophobicity.

STABLE AQUEOUS FLUOROPOLYMER COATING COMPOSITION
The invention relates to a high shear stable aqueous fluoropolymer coating composition, preferably using polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), such as KYNAR® PVDF, suitable for high performance coating applications. The composition is based on a high shear stable fluoropolymer emulsion having small particle size, blended with an acrylic polymer additive. The use of this composition allows high bake PVDF water-base coatings which can be applied on variety of substrates such as metal or ceramic surfaces, and in the impregnation of textiles, glass, carbon or aramid fibers, etc. The dry coating formed from the coating composition of the invention exhibits improved gloss, crack resistance, chemical resistance, hot dirt pick up resistance and other improved properties.
3D PRINTABLE COMPOSITE WATERBORNE DISPERSIONS
A composite waterborne dispersion for 3D printing. The dispersion includes a composition containing an aqueous dispersion of polymer particles; an associative thickener; and a functional filler. The functional filler may be conductive particles, fumed silica, milled glass fibers, polydimethylsiloxane, eutectic metal particles, carbon fiber, thermally insulating particles, thermally conductive particles, ferromagnetic particles, particles with high acoustic impedance, low-k dielectric particles, or high-k dielectric particles. The composition has a yield stress >0 Pa, the yield stress being at least one of dynamic yield stress and static yield stress. The composition is film-forming when dried. A method for three-dimensionally printing an object with a three-dimensional printer includes dispensing a composite waterborne dispersion to deposit the dispersion toward a build surface to define an object portion, the dispersion including an aqueous dispersion of polymer particles and an associative thickener, the composition having a yield stress >0 Pa and being film-forming when dried.
MULTI-PURPOSE FLOOR FINISH COMPOSITION
A composition for a multi-purpose floor finish is disclosed that includes at least one polymer, at least one plasticizer, and at least one hydrophobic glycol solvent. Further, the composition for a multi-purpose floor finish comprises a percent elongation of at least 100% and a tensile strength of at least 1000 psi.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING AND RECLAIMING PAINT FLUSH WASTE

A device, method, system, operating method, component and composition are disclosed for preventing deposits of a disposal agent, e.g., where a multi-component paint having two or more components such as a paint component and a hardener component, is employed, for example in a coating installation. Exemplary illustrations include a receiving device for disposal agent, e.g., for disposal agent from cleaning and/or rinsing processes of an application apparatus, comprising at least one inlet opening for introducing the disposal agent, and an outlet opening for removing the disposal agent. Furthermore, at least one loading means may be provided in order to load the receiving device with a loading agent, which may at least delay a deposition of disposal agent on or in the receiving device.

A coating liquid for preparing a needle-shaped cylinder liner, comprising the following components: 0.05-0.4 parts of an anionic surfactant; 0.05-0.5 parts of tannic acid; 0.15-0.7 parts of caustic soda; 22-38 parts of diatomite; 3-10 parts of montmorillonite; and 62-75 parts of water. A method for preparing a needle-shaped cylinder liner comprises spraying a coating liquid for preparing the needle-shaped cylinder liner onto the inner wall of a hollow cylindrical mould, and drying the coating liquid to obtain a mould with a coating attached to the surface of the inner wall; adding an inoculated iron liquid into the rotary mould, and cooling and demoulding to obtain a cylinder liner blank; and subjecting the blank to outer surface cleaning and forming machining to obtain the needle-shaped cylinder liner.
