Monobenzoate useful as a plasticizer in plastisol compositions
A unique monobenzoate useful as a plasticizer in polymeric dispersions, such as plastisols and melt compounds. The monobenzoate comprises 3-phenyl propyl benzoate, a benzoate ester heretofore known as a flavoring and fragrance agent, but not previously utilized as a plasticizer in polymeric applications. Depending on the application, the advantages rendered by the use of the inventive monobenzoate include, among other things, excellent solvating properties, low viscosity, viscosity stability, and improved rheology, as well as health, safety and environmental advantages over traditional plasticizers. The monobenzoate may be used alone or in combination with a variety of plasticizers, including but not limited to phthalates, terephthalates, dibenzoates, other monobenzoates, or 1,2-cyclohexane dicarboxylate esters, and mixtures thereof.
Ultraviolet ray curable ink composition for use in ink jet method and printed object
An ultraviolet ray curable ink composition adapted to be ejected by using an ink jet method is provided. The ultraviolet ray curable ink composition includes a polymerizable compound, metal powder, and a liquid component having an alicyclic structure including a hetero atom. The metal powder is constituted from metal particles subjected to a surface treatment with a fluorine type silane compound and/or a fluorine type phosphoric acid ester as a surface treatment agent. An amount of the liquid component contained in the ultraviolet ray curable ink composition is in the range of 0.05 mass % or more but 7.0 mass % or less. A printed object is also provided. Such a printed object is produced by using the ultraviolet ray curable ink composition.
REACTIVE HYDROXYLATED AND CARBOXYLATED POLYMERS FOR USE AS ADHESION PROMOTERS
A polymer complex is disclosed which is the reaction product of one or more polymers having a terminal or pendant hydroxyl group, or a terminal or pendent carboxyl group, or combinations thereof, with at least one metal complex and one alkyl phosphate. This polymer complex acts as an adhesion promotion agent as well as a viscosity stabilizer when formulated in a printing ink or coating.
INK COMPOSITION
Provided in one example herein is a liquid electrophotographic ink composition, comprising: a carrier fluid comprising a polymer; ink particles comprising pigment particles and a polymeric resin, the pigment particles comprising titanium dioxide Sand being distributed in the polymeric resin; and a charge director, wherein the ink particles have an average diameter of between about 10 μm and 50 μm; and the pigment particles are between about 10 wt % and about 50 wt % of the ink particles. Methods of making and using the ink composition are also provided.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING DECORATED ARTICLE BY DECORATING UNEVEN SURFACE, DECORATED ARTICLE BY DECORATING UNEVEN SURFACE, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING DRAWN ARTICLE
A method for manufacturing a decorated article having a smooth printing surface by performing an inkjet printing to an uneven surface of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic molding. An uncured rough-surface ink layer is formed on an undecorated uneven surface by performing an inkjet printing and using an active energy ray curable ink, and a temporary cover film is disposed to cover an upper surface of the uncured rough-surface ink layer. The surface of the uncured rough-surface ink layer is smoothed by applying a pressing force to the uncured rough-surface ink layer from the upper surface of the temporary cover film. An active energy ray is applied, so that a cured smooth ink layer is formed, and the temporary cover film is peeled.
Curable liquids and inkjet inks for food packaging applications
A radiation curable liquid includes at least one free radical polymerizable monomer or oligomer, at least one diffusion hindered acetalyzation catalyst, and at least one diffusion hindered hydroxyl containing compound. The radiation curable liquid applied to a substrate prevents migration of very low viscous monomers, such as vinyl ether acrylate monomers, into the substrate.
Low migration energy curable inks
The present invention provides energy curable ink and coating compositions that comprise polymerizable compounds, photoinitiators, and colorants. The polymerizable compounds comprise one or more polymerizable monomers and/or oligomers, wherein at least a portion is 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol diacrylate. The inks and coatings of the invention exhibit excellent print properties after UV-LED, standard UV mercury vapor lamp, and electron beam cure.
Exfoliating-dispersing agents for nanotubes, bundles and fibers
Methods and compositions for the formation of dispersions of nanotubes are provided using solution comprising an aromatic hydrocarbon and an electron donor group. Also provided are methods for isolating carbon nanotubes from the composition, and use of carbon nanotube products.
