METAL-PARTICLE DISPERSION COMPOSITION AND AQUEOUS COATING COMPOSITION
Provided is a metal-particle dispersion composition as a composition containing dispersed metal particles and being suitable for use in aqueous coating compositions, etc., the metal-particle dispersion composition comprising 10-80 mass % metal particles, 0.01-10 mass % organic titanate compound in a chelate form, 1-40 mass % water, and 2-30 mass % organic solvent having a higher boiling point than water, the amounts being based on the whole composition, wherein the organic titanate compound is an organic compound represented by Ti(OR).sub.4 (the OR groups include at least one chelatable substituent based on triethanolamine) and the organic solvent having a higher boiling point than water is a C.sub.7 or lower alcohol compound.
Coating material combination consisting of surfacer and topcoat
Coating material combination consisting of a coating material for forming a surfacer coat and a coating material for forming a topcoat, and use thereof for producing a coating system consisting of a surfacer coat and topcoat on a substrate. The substrate preferably comprises the body or the cabin of a motor vehicle, or a constituent thereof. The coating material combination of the invention is suitable especially for producing coatings consisting of a cured surfacer coat and a cured topcoat on automobiles and commercial vehicles, such as trucks, vans, or buses.
Dispersant composition
The present invention relates to a dispersant composition comprising: a) at least one oligomeric acid A, which has i) at least one acidic group selected from COOH and PO.sub.3H.sub.2, and ii) at least one polyoxyalkylene-ether radical of the formula (I): R—(O-A).sub.xO-G-, where A is an C.sub.2-C.sub.4-alkan-1,2-diyl radical; X is an integer having a number average value in the range from 2 to 20; and R is hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 30 carbon atoms; G is a chemical bond or a carbonyl group; and b) at least one polyamine B, which is selected from the group consisting of polyvinylamines, poly-C.sub.2-C.sub.3-alkyleneimines, modified poly-C.sub.2-C.sub.3-alkyleneimines, melamine compounds, modified melamine compounds, poly-(C.sub.2-C.sub.4-alkyleneether) amines, polyetheramine polyols, and modified polyetheramine polyols. The invention also relates to aqueous pigment compositions containing a dispersant composition as defined herein, a pigment component, selected from the group consisting of pigments and mixtures of at least one pigment and at least one filler, and an aqueous diluent.

A pigment composition including at least one pigment selected from the group consisting of a perinone-based pigment and a perylene-based pigment, water, a resin having a constitutional unit represented by Formula 1, and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a phthalimide compound having a carboxyalkyl group and a naphthalimide compound having a carboxyalkyl group; a method for producing thereof; and an aqueous ink composition using the pigment composition. In Formula 1, R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, L.sup.2 represents —C(═O)O—, —OC(═O)—, or —C(═O)NR.sup.2— and R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and R.sup.3 represents an alkyl group having 6 or more carbon atoms. ##STR00001##

The invention relates to block copolymer comprising i) A first block wherein at least 65 mol-% of the repeating units of the first block are repeating units of the formula (I)—[CH.sub.2—CH.sub.2—O]—, ii) A second block wherein at least 90 mol-% of the repeating units of the second block are repeating units of at least one of formulae (II) or (III), wherein the groups R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 independent of each occurrence are selected from hydrocarbyl groups having 1 to 40 carbon atoms, which are optionally substituted by ether or hydroxyl groups, and wherein the groups R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are optionally linked to each other such that a nitrogen heterocyclic structure is present, iii) A third block which is different from the first block and the second block and which is more hydrophobic than the first block.

IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO DISPERSIONS
A dispersion comprising a solid particulate component such as a pigment, a dispersing agent and one or more solvents is disclosed. The dispersing agent comprises a reaction product of (a) an epoxidised carboxylic acid ester; (b) a compound including at least one reactive alcohol and/or amino functional group; and (c) a derivatising agent. Such a dispersion shows excellent long-term stability. A method of producing such a dispersion having long-term stability, and a use of the dispersing agent to provide a dispersion having long-term stability are also described.
Acrylate comb dispersing agent and preparation method and use thereof, and white ink-jet color paste and preparation method thereof
The present disclosure relates to the technical field of pigment dispersing agents, and provides an acrylate comb dispersing agent and a preparation method and use thereof, and a white ink-jet color paste and a preparation method thereof. The dispersing agent provided by the present disclosure is similar to a comb in structure and is synthesized from a hydrophobic monomer (comb handle) and a hydrophilic macromonomer (comb teeth). The acrylate comb dispersing agent provided by the present disclosure is good in dispersity, capable of stably dispersing titanium dioxide, relatively low in molecular weight and capable of meeting the requirements of ink-jet ink. The white ink-jet color paste provided by the present disclosure is strong in stability and low in viscosity, is not easy to settle and flocculate, and meets the requirements of the ink-jet ink.
C.I. PIGMENT YELLOW 180, AQUEOUS PIGMENT DISPERSION FOR INK-JET INK, AND AQUEOUS PIGMENT INK
The aqueous pigment dispersion for IJ inks has excellent dispersion quality as well as high color strength and light fastness and is particularly suited for use as an U aqueous pigment ink. It includes C.I. Pigment Yellow 180, a block copolymer having an acid value of 10 or more and 20 or less and an amine value of 20 or less, and water. The present invention also provides C.I. Pigment Yellow 180 having an aspect ratio of 1.0 to 2.0, a primary particle shorter diameter of 30 to 100 nm, and a crystallite size of 15.0 nm or more as calculated from the Scherrer equation based on the full width at half maximum of a peak A indicated by a maximum diffraction intensity at a diffraction angle 2θ=6.7±0.50 in a powder X-ray diffraction pattern of diffraction intensities versus 2θ measured using CuKα radiation.
COLORING COMPOSITION, AND COLOR FILTER
A problem to be solved by the present invention is providing a coloring composition containing a perylene-based compound such as C.I. Pigment Violet 29 while achieving high dispersion into a glycol-based solvent, the coloring composition being usable in a display production process without causing insufficient resist curing or a drop in spectral purity. The coloring composition of the present invention contains a sulfonate compound represented by the following formula (1) and C.I. Pigment Violet 29. A-SO.sub.3M.nH.sub.2O Formula (1) [In the formula (1), A represents a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, optionally having within the structure a halogen, a boron, a nitrogen, a sulfur, a phosphorus, or an oxygen, M represents one equivalent of a cation having a valence of 1 to 3 excluding H, and n represents an integer of 0 to 5]
