A non-aqueous ink composition for ink jet recording includes a pigment, a compound represented by General formula 1 below, and a phthalocyanine derivative provided with a polar group not having an amine structure, as a pigment dispersant for dispersing the pigment. The pigment is carbon black. The composition further includes an alkylene glycol monoalkyl ether: ##STR00001##

Water-Based Coating Composition, Method for Forming Multi-layer Coating Film, and Article Having Multi-layer Coating Film
A water-based coating composition and method for forming a multi-layer coating film by which it is possible to form a coating film 5 having excellent smoothness, image clarity, and chipping resistance in a 3C1B format. The composition is characterized by containing 7 to 60 mass % of an acrylic resin emulsion (a), 10 to 60 mass % of a film-forming resin (b), and 10 10 to 50 mass % of a curing agent (c), on the basis of the total mass of the solid resin content in the composition; the acrylic resin emulsion (a) having a core/shell structure where the core section contains, as a copolymer component, 0.1 to 10 mass % of a polymerizable unsaturated 15 monomer having two or more polymerizable unsaturated groups in one molecule, on the basis of the total mass of monomer of the core section, and the hydroxyl value of the core section is 50 to 200 mgKOH/g, and the hydroxyl value of the shell section is 50 to 200 mgKOH/g.
MULTILAYER COATING FILM AND COATED OBJECT
A multilayer coating film 12 includes a bright layer 15 and a colored layer 16 superposed on the bright layer 15, the bright layer 15 including aluminum flakes 22, and the colored layer 16 including a black pigment 23 dispersed in the colored layer 16. The black pigment 23 in the colored layer 16 has a particle size distribution with a peak at a particle size of 200 nm or lower.

This invention relates to copolymers AB having moieties derived from vinyl-terminated polysiloxanes A with more than one vinyl group bound to the polysiloxane, and moieties derived from two or more alkyl esters B of an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid, wherein at least two different alkyl esters B1 and B2 are used; the alkyl group of the first alkyl ester B1 of an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid has from one to five carbon atoms, the alkyl group of the second alkyl ester B2 of an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid has from six to thirty carbon atoms, and moieties derived from at least one hydroxyalkyl ester B3 of an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid, the ester B3 having at least one hydroxyl group in the alkyl group, and from two to six carbon atoms in the alkyl group, to a process for their preparation, and to a method of use thereof as flow modifiers in coating compositions.

This invention relates to copolymers AB having moieties derived from vinyl-terminated polysiloxanes A with more than one vinyl group bound to the polysiloxane, and moieties derived from two or more alkyl esters B of an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid, wherein at least two different alkyl esters B1 and B2 are used; the alkyl group of the first alkyl ester B1 of an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid has from one to five carbon atoms, the alkyl group of the second alkyl ester B2 of an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid has from six to thirty carbon atoms, and moieties derived from at least one hydroxyalkyl ester B3 of an olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid, the ester B3 having at least one hydroxyl group in the alkyl group, and from two to six carbon atoms in the alkyl group, to a process for their preparation, and to a method of use thereof as flow modifiers in coating compositions.

To provide a powder coating material capable of forming a coating film excellent in weather resistance, coating film appearance and surface smoothness; and a coated article having a coating film made of such a powder coating material. A powder coating material comprising a powder composed of a first composition which is a first composition for powder coating material comprising a fluororesin having a fluorine content of at least 10% by mass and a plasticizer having a melting point of from 60 to 200° C. and having a cyclic hydrocarbon group in the molecule, wherein the content of the plasticizer is from 0.1 to 40 parts by mass, to 100 parts by mass of the resin component contained in the first composition. And, a powder coating material comprising a powder composed of a second composition containing the fluororesin and a powder composed of a third composition containing a resin other than the fluororesin, wherein at least one of the second composition and the third composition contains a plasticizer, and the content of the plasticizer is from 0.1 to 40 parts by mass, to 100 parts by mass in total of the resin components contained in the second composition and the third composition.
