ANTI-CORROSIVE AND SOUND DAMPENING COATINGS
A coating composition for providing anti-corrosive, wear-resistance, and sound dampening properties to plastic and metallic substrates. The composition comprises at least one functionalized resin and at least one dry lubricant in a solvent comprising a ketone, and can further comprise at least one of a cross-linking agent, a cross-linking catalyst, a co-solvent, and a colorant. Some compositions comprise multiple ketones and/or multiple dry lubricants, and can be formulated and applied to a substrate without producing hydrogen gas. Substrates coated with the coating composition can include metal components, particularly springs, washers, and other elements, within the liftgate support struts in a van, SUV, or other hatchback vehicle.

High Temperature Curable Coating Composition
The invention relates to a high temperature curable coating composition comprising: (a) at least one film-forming resin, (b) at least one crosslinker for the film-forming resin, wherein the crosslinker is not substantially reactive at temperatures under 120° C., and (c) an anticorrosive agent, which comprises a combination of a magnesium compound and a water-soluble Li salt. The invention further provides a method of coating a metal substrate and a coated metal substrate. The resulting coating has excellent anticorrosive properties without the use of Cr(VI) compounds, while being suitable for high temperature cure conditions typical in coil coatings.

Curative
A curative for epoxidized plant-based oils and epoxidized natural rubber is created from the reaction between a naturally occurring polyfunctional acid and an epoxidized plant-based oil is disclosed. The curative may be used to produce at least one of six different materials, wherein each type of material may be configured as a thermosetting elastomer that is crosslinked with β-hydroxyester linkages. The materials may be configured as a leather-like material, a foam material, a molded elastomer, a coating, an adhesive, and/or a rigid or semi-rigid material. Illustrative articles made from any combination of the six materials may be recycled using a mechano-chemical process to de-crosslink the thermosetting elastomer.
Polyhydroxy ketal ester adducts, methods of manufacture and uses thereof
Disclosed herein is a polyhydroxy ketal adduct obtained by the esterification of a hydrocarbon polyol by at least 1.5 equivalents of a ketocarboxy to produce an intermediate ketocarboxylic ester. The intermediate polyketocarboxylic ester is then ketalized to produce the polyhydroxyketal adduct, which can be used to provide a polymeric composition.

Polylactide/silicon-containing block copolymers for nanolithography
The present invention includes a diblock copolymer system that self-assembles at very low molecular weights to form very small features. In one embodiment, one polymer in the block copolymer contains silicon, and the other polymer is a polylactide. In one embodiment, the block copolymer is synthesized by a combination of anionic and ring opening polymerization reactions. In one embodiment, the purpose of this block copolymer is to form nanoporous materials that can be used as etch masks in lithographic patterning.
