MULTI-FUNCTIONAL, TWO-POUCH PACKAGE WITH DROP TEST SURVIVABILITY
20180327169 · 2018-11-15 · ·

A multi-functional package has a first reactive liquid component in a primary pouch and a second reactive liquid component in a secondary burstable pouch which is inside the primary pouch. The primary pouch has first and second compartments defined by an interior seal. The secondary pouch is in the second compartment. The interior seal extends only a portion of the way across the primary pouch, leaving a liquid flow passageway so that upon bursting the secondary pouch, the first and second liquid components can be mixed with one another. The internal seal is sized and located so that the multi-functional package is resistant to bursting when subjected to drop testing.

GOLF BALL INCORPORATING POSITIVE HARDNESS GRADIENT THERMOSET POLYURETHANE OUTER COVER LAYER

Golf ball comprising a core having a hardness gradient and an outer cover layer having a microhardness gradient and being formed from a thermoset polyurethane material throughout, and having: i) a treated region that is contacted with a thermoset polyurethane microhardness-increasing solution consisting of an isocyanate portion and at least one non-aqueous solvent; and ii) an untreated region that is not contacted with the thermoset polyurethane microhardness-increasing solution. The treated region comprises the isocyanate portion, whereas the untreated region does not comprise the isocyanate portion. Treated region has a microhardness M.sub.1 that is greater than microhardness M.sub.2 of untreated region to define the outer cover layer positive microhardness gradient M=M.sub.1M.sub.2. The treated region may have a depth Dtr that extends inward from the cover outer surface and in some embodiments is less than a thickness of the untreated region. Treated region may alternatively extend from the inner surface toward outer surface.

The invention provides a highly durable surface coating intended to inhibit the formation of ice at sub-0 C. temperatures as well as reduce the accumulation of dirt and insect debris to a vehicle surface upon impact. A continuous, durable matrix surrounds both low-surface-energy (low-adhesion) material inclusions as well as hygroscopic material inclusions. Some variations provide a low-friction, low-adhesion material comprising: a durable continuous matrix; a plurality of first inclusions, dispersed within the matrix, each comprising a low-surface-energy polymer; and a plurality of second inclusions, dispersed within the matrix, each comprising a hygroscopic material. The matrix and the first and second inclusions form a lubricating surface layer in the presence of humidity. Other variations employ a durable continuous matrix and a plurality of inclusions, dispersed within the matrix, each comprising a low-surface-energy polymer surrounding a hygroscopic material. Coating precursors and methods of forming final coatings are also described.

PHOTOCHROMIC COATING COMPOSITION

To provide a photochromic coating composition comprising (A) a polyrotaxane having a composite molecular structure formed by an axial molecule and a plurality of cyclic molecules clathrating the axial molecule, (B) a photochromic compound and (C) a polyurethane resin and/or precursor thereof.

This composition provides a laminate which exhibits excellent photochromic properties (color optical density and fading speed), moldability and surface hardness.

GOLF BALL

An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball travelling a great flight distance on driver shots, exhibiting an excellent spin performance on approach shots under a dry condition and a wet condition, and showing an excellent shot feeling and durability. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a golf ball body having a spherical core, an intermediate layer and a cover, and a paint film composed of two or more layers, wherein a 10% elastic modulus difference (M.sub.in-M.sub.out) between an innermost layer and an outermost layer of the paint film is 25 kgf/cm.sup.2 or more.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A MULTICOAT PAINT SYSTEM ON PLASTICS SUBSTRATES

The present invention relates to a method for producing a multicoat paint system on a plastics substrate, in which a basecoat film or a plurality of directly successive basecoat films are produced on a plastics substrate, a clearcoat film is produced directly on the one basecoat film or on the topmost of the plurality of basecoat films, and subsequently the one or more basecoat films and the clearcoat film are jointly cured, this method being a method wherein at least one basecoat material used for the production of the basecoat films comprises at least one aqueous polyurethane-polyurea dispersion (PD) comprising polyurethane-polyurea particles, where the polyurethane-polyurea particles present in the dispersion (PD) comprise anionic groups and/or groups which can be converted into anionic groups, and have an average particle size of 40 to 2000 nm and also a gel fraction of at least 50%.
