Disclosed are various systems and features for use with a machine, such as a sewing machine, to facilitate 3-dimensional vision systems that may enable operations on non-flat objects and paths. Such systems and features may be useful in the context of performing an action along a self-guided path on a substrate.

Using artificial intelligence to determine a value for a variable size component

A machine learning model for predicting a size fit satisfaction for a variable size component is trained using at least sizing profiles of a plurality of items and feedbacks of subjects regarding sizing of the plurality of items. The machine learning model is used to determine a value for the variable size component that corresponds to an optimal predicted size fit satisfaction. The determined value of the variable size component is provided for use in creating a new item with a sizing variation based on the determined value.

Custom fabric cases for electronic devices

A fabric case for an electronic device may include a back panel having a periphery and a side wall that extends around the periphery. The back panel may include a knit image of a user-selected digital photograph or other design. The design of the back panel may be customized according to the user's tastes. The case may be formed using computing equipment and knitting equipment. The computing equipment may receive a digital image from the user and may reduce the resolution and the number of colors in the digital image according to the specifications of the textile machine. Fabric pattern design software may convert the digital image into knitting instructions. The knitting instructions may be executed by knitting equipment to produce a custom back panel having a knit image of the digital photograph. The back panel may be attached to a peripheral side wall to form the fabric case.

GARMENT PATTERN OPTIMIZATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
20210052028 · 2021-02-25 ·

According to an embodiment, the invention relates to a computer implemented method for grading a pattern from a first size to a second size, the pattern comprising one or more panels, the method comprising the steps of a representation step comprising representing each panel of the one or more panels by a contour, wherein a contour comprises one or more segments, a constraint step comprising imposing constraints on segments for grading to the second size; generating a mesh of each panel of the one or more panels thereby obtaining a first set of meshes; combining the first set of meshes with the constraints into a system of equations; solving the system of equations into a second set of meshes, wherein the contours of the second meshes correspond to the pattern in the second size and representing the contours of the second set of meshes.

A textile shirt and a method of forming a shirt from a textile material are described herein. The method includes marking a surface of a circularly formed textile structure with a boundary line that defines approximately half of a shirt pattern. Portions of the textile structure disposed exteriorly of the boundary line are removed and the boundary line is marked along the surface of the textile structure such that once the portions are removed from the textile structure, a shirt can be formed from the textile structure with a single seam. The shirt includes a yoke portion including armholes defined by sleeves disposed on either side of the yoke portion and a tubular torso portion configured to span the torso of a wearer beneath the armholes. The shirt includes a single interior seam extending along the sleeves and along a back of the textile shirt between the yoke portion and the chest portion.

Methods and systems for customized garment and outfit design generation
10918150 · 2021-02-16 · ·

Disclosed are methods and systems for generating a customized garment design. The method, when executed by a processor, comprises first retrieving a user signal about a user, identifying a user style comprising at least a preferred garment category for the user by analyzing the user signal, and retrieving a group of features for the preferred garment category, where each of the features is associated with at least one style variable. The method further comprises identifying at least one preferred style value for each of the style variables based on the user signal, generating one or more candidate garment feature sets by selecting one or more combinations of preferred style values for each style variable, and generating the customized garment design by selecting a garment feature set from the one or more candidate garment feature sets.

AUTOMATED GRADING OF CLOTHING PATTERNS OF GARMENT
