METHOD FOR CORROSION PREVENTION
The composition described herein for the prevention of corrosion comprises: sacrificial metal particles more noble than a metal substrate to which the composition contacts; carbonaceous material that can form electrical contact between the sacrificial metal particles; and means for providing an anticorrosion coating material for the metal substrate. The composition can form a coating on a metal substrate surface. A method for applying the composition for the prevention of corrosion is also described herein.
Lignin nanoparticle dispersions and methods for producing and using the same
A mild, simple process of preparing lignin nanoparticle dispersions is disclosed. Additionally, compositions and methods of making lignin nanoparticle-polymer complexes comprising derivatized and/or non-derivatized lignin nanoparticle dispersions and water soluble and/or water dispersible polymers are disclosed. Further, methods of using at least one of the lignin nanoparticle dispersions, derivatized lignin nanoparticle dispersions, and/or the lignin nanoparticle-polymer complex to impart rinse-resistant properties, such as hydrophilic properties, to substrates, or function as tunable nanoparticle surfactants are disclosed.
Binder compositions and uses thereof
The present invention relates to a new aqueous curable binder composition comprising a polyphenolic macromolecular compound which bears a multitude of catechol radicals (dihydroxybenzene), preferably lignosulfonate salts and condensed tannins and mixtures thereof, and a polyamine functional compound comprising primary and/or secondary and/or tertiary and/or quaternary amine functional groups, suitable for bonding particulate matter, such as fibers, more particularly mineral wool fibers, or particles, such as wood particles.

Compositions and methods for pelletized recycled asphalt shingles
Embodiments are directed to recycled asphalt shingle pellets having a soft center with a biofuel or bio-oil diluent, and a harder, water-resistant shell coating. It is believed that by using a biofuel, more recycled asphalt shingles material may be used in the formulation of asphalt cement without compromising the performance grade of the asphalt cement.
BITUMEN THAT IS SOLID AT AMBIENT TEMPERATURE
Granular bitumen that is solid at ambient temperature includes a core and a coating layer that covers all or part of the surface of the core, wherein the core includes at least one bitumen base, and the coating layer includes at least one viscosifying compound and at least one anticaking compound. A method for manufacturing bitumen that is solid at ambient temperature and the use of bitumen that is solid at ambient temperature as a road binder, particularly for manufacturing asphalts. Further, a method for manufacturing asphalts from solid bitumen and to a method for transporting and/or storing road bitumen that is solid at ambient temperature.
Packaging And Liquid Stabilizing Material
An apparatus and a method are provided for a packaging and liquid stabilizing material suitable for dispensing and drying into a desired shape. In some embodiments, the desired shape may be selected so as to simplify cleanup of the packaging and liquid stabilizing material after having absorbed a liquid spilled from containers during transportation in a larger container. A first portion of the packaging and liquid stabilizing material comprises latex-based waste which is formulated into a recycled latex emulsion. The latex-based waste generally comprises recycled liquid latex paint, as well as recycled semi-liquid latex paint and coatings. A second portion comprises a particulate material which includes a mixture of at least cellulose and lignin, such as sawdust. A third portion comprises additional components including any of various plasticizers, coloring agents, hardeners, drying agents, or solidifiers.
Polyester Polymers Comprising Lignin
Disclosed is a polyester polymer prepared from a reaction mixture comprising a polyacid component and a polyol component that comprises lignin. Residues of lignin are incorporated into the backbone of the polyester polymer. Coatings comprising the same and substrates coated at least in part with such coatings are also disclosed.
