SELF-STICK INSULATION AND METHODS
A method of using a self-stick insulation. The method includes providing a piece of insulation product with an adhesive coating. The adhesive coating includes polystyrene-maleic anhydride (SMA) and/or polyacrylic acid (PAA); an alcohol amine; and at least one of a polyvinyl alcohol and a starch. The adhesive coating is then activated with liquid water. Once the adhesive coating is active, the insulation product is attached to a surface with the adhesive coating.

USE OF BONDING RESIN
The present invention relates to the use of a bonding resin prepared by providing an aqueous solution comprising at least one biobased product selected from tannin, starch, soy protein, glycerol, chitin, pectin, dextrose or other carbohydrates, or a mixture thereof and mixing the aqueous solution with one or more of certain crosslinkers such as ethers, and optionally one or more additives. The bonding resin is used in the manufacture of laminates, mineral wool insulation or wood products, such as engineered wood products, such as plywood, oriented strandboard (OSB), laminated veneer lumber (LVL), medium density fiberboards (MDF), high density fiberboards (HDF) or particle boards. Preferably, the bonding resin does not comprise lignin.
Compostable biopolymer adhesive
A compostable biopolymer adhesive may include a starch, a hydroxylic liquid, a preservative mixture, a crystallization inhibitor, and a carbonate, wherein the compostable biopolymer may be free of synthetic materials yet has a long shelf life, is stable at room temperature, and which can be used to make slime for play. The preservative mixture may include a mixture of saccharides and salt, and the salt may make up about 10 to about 90 wt. % of the dry materials used to make the compostable biopolymer adhesive.
MICROFIBRILLATED CELLULOSE FOR CONTROLLING VISCOSITY AND GEL TEMPERATURE IN STARCH-BASED ADHESIVES
The present invention relates to starch-based adhesive compositions comprising microfibrillated cellulose (“MFC”). In addition to microfibrillated cellulose, these adhesive compositions comprise at least one starch and/or at least one starch derivative. The adhesive compositions have a reduced amount of caustic soda vis-a-vis adhesive compositions that do not comprise MFC as an additive. Borax or boric acid (or any derivative thereof) may be partially or fully replaced with microfibrillated cellulose, wherein MFC (contrary to borax) surprisingly does not significantly affect the gel temperature of the overall adhesive.

MICROFIBRILLATED CELLULOSE AS A CROSSLINKING AGENT
The present invention relates to a composition for use as an adhesive, paint, coating, resin, (surface) size, composite, gel or hydrogel, said composition comprising microfibrillated cellulose (MFC). In addition to microfibrillated cellulose, these compositions comprise at least one solvent, said solvent preferably comprising or consisting of water, and at least one compound that is (a) capable of polymerizing, or has already partly or fully, polymerized, and that (b) has at least two groups available for hydrogen bonding, preferably OH groups, that are capable of crosslinking with at least one functional group of the microfibrillated cellulose. In these compositions, the microfibrillated cellulose primarily functions as a crosslinking agent (while it is by no means excluded that the microfibrillated cellulose additionally has other functionalities, such as acting as viscosity modifier and/or thixotropic additive), integrating the compound that (a) is capable of polymerizing or that has already partly or fully, polymerized, and that (b) has at least two groups available for hydrogen bonding, into a gel-like three-dimensional network.
MICROFIBRILLATED CELLULOSE AS RHEOLOGY MODIFIER IN ADHESIVES
The present invention relates to starch-based adhesive compositions comprising microfibrillatedcellulose (MFC). In addition to microfibrillated cellulose, these adhesive compositions comprise at least one starch and/or at least one starch derivative.
