Hand-tearable masking tape with silicone-containing low adhesion backsize
A hand-tearable masking tape, comprising a plastic backing with a low adhesion backsize on the first major side of the backing and a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the second major side of the backing; wherein the second major side of the backing comprises a microstructured hand-tear pattern and wherein the low adhesion backsize comprises the reaction product of a mercapto-functional silicone macromer.
ADHESIVE TAPE AND ITS USE
Adhesive tape for flying splices of flat web materials, in particular flat web materials with nonpolar surfaces, said adhesive tape at least comprising an upper self-adhesive compound layer, an inner adhesive tape area adapted as a flat predetermined breaking point, and a lower self-adhesive compound on the underside of the inner adhesive tape area, wherein a natural rubber adhesive compound is used as the self-adhesive compound for at least the upper self-adhesive compound layer, as well as methods for flying splices of flat web material wound onto rolls, in particular with nonpolar surfaces, using a corresponding adhesive tape.
DUCT TAPE HAVING A MULTI-LAYER ADHESIVE SYSTEM
A low cost, thick duct tape having a multi-layer adhesive system and methods for making the duct tape are disclosed. The duct tape includes a backing having a first major surface and an opposing second major surface, a reinforcing material applied to the second major surface of the backing, an inner adhesive layer applied to the reinforcing material opposite the backing, and an outermost adhesive layer applied to the composite adhesive layer. The inner adhesive layer includes a first adhesive and an extender dispersed in the first adhesive, and the outermost adhesive layer includes a second adhesive that may be the same or different than the first adhesive.
IMPROVED ADHESIVE BONDING COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF USE
A method of and system for adhesive bonding. The method and system a) treat a surface of an element to be bonded to provide an adherent structure including one or more rubber compounds on the surface; b) place a polymerizable adhesive composition, including at least one photoinitiator and at least one energy converting material, in contact with the adherent structure and two or more components to be bonded to form an assembly, c) irradiated the assembly with radiation at a first wavelength, capable of conversion by the at least one energy converting material, to a second wavelength capable of activating the at least one photoinitiator to produce from the polymerizable adhesive composition a cured adhesive composition; and d) adhesively join the two or more components by way of the adherent structure and the cured adhesive composition.

Hydrogenated Block Copolymer Composition and Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive Composition
A hydrogenated block copolymer composition, comprising: a component (A) comprising at least one polymer block comprising a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon as a primary component and at least one polymer block comprising a conjugated diene compound as a primary component and having a weight-average molecular weight of 30,000 or higher and 500,000 or lower, and a component (B) comprising at least two polymer blocks comprising a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon and at least one polymer block comprising a conjugated diene compound as a primary component and having a weight-average molecular weight of 50,000 or higher and 1,000,000 or lower, wherein the composition satisfies predetermined requirements.
Method of manufacturing a self-sealing composition
A self-sealing elastomer composition that includes a diene elastomer, a hydrocarbon resin with a given softening temperature, and a liquid plasticizing agent, is manufactured according to a process that includes successive stages. In one stage, the hydrocarbon resin is incorporated in the diene elastomer by kneading the resin and the elastomer in a mixer at or up to a temperature referred to as hot compounding temperature, which is greater than the softening temperature of the resin, in order to obtain a masterbatch. In another stage, the liquid plasticizing agent is incorporated in the masterbatch by kneading the agent and the masterbatch in the same mixer or in another mixer, in order to obtain the self-sealing composition. The self-sealing composition then is formed dimensionally.

Rubber laminate
Provided is a rubber laminate, comprising a vulcanized rubber sheet having a degree of vulcanization in a range from 85% to 95%, a rubberized ink layer, a pressure sensitive adhesive rubber layer and a surface coating layer. The raw materials of the vulcanized rubber sheet, of the rubberized ink layer, and of the pressure sensitive adhesive rubber layer all include an identical rubber composition. Accordingly, the rubber laminate can firmly adhere to a rubber article and does not detach from the rubber article after the vulcanization and inflation of the rubber article.
