Adhesive tapes

Adhesive tapes include a plasticized polyvinyl chloride backing, a primer including an ethylene/carbon monoxide-containing terpolymer and a styrene-containing block copolymer and an epoxidized polymer, and an adhesive.

PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE SHEET

A pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet includes a resin film as a substrate and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer provided on a first face of the substrate. In the pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet, a second face of the substrate is a release face, and the second face has a slip resistance value of 3.5 N or more. The pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet has a high-speed peel strength of 4.5 N/20 mm or higher, which is measured under conditions of a tensile speed of 30 m/min after 30 minutes of application to a stainless steel plate, and it has a difference between the maximum and minimum values of a self-backside adhesive strength of 1.5 N/20 mm or lower, which is measured under a condition of a tensile speed of 30 m/min.

Adhesive bonding composition and method of use

A method of and system for adhesive bonding by a) providing a polymerizable adhesive composition on a surface of an element to be bonded to form an assembly; b) irradiating the assembly with radiation at a first wavelength capable of vulcanization of bonds in the polymerizable adhesive composition by activation of sulfur-containing compound with at least one selected from x-ray, e-beam, visible, or infrared light to thereby generate ultraviolet light in the polymerizable adhesive composition; and c) adhesively joining two or more components together by way of the polymerizable adhesive composition, and a curable polymer for use therein.

PROCESS FOR MAKING PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE AND DUCT TAPE
20170335148 · 2017-11-23 ·

A continuous process for making a pressure-sensitive adhesive is disclosed. A mixture comprising natural rubber having a Mooney viscosity of 85 to 100, a tackifier, a filler, and 0.1 to 5 wt. % of an added C.sub.12-C.sub.24 fatty acid based on the amount of mixture is masticated in a first section of a single- or twin-screw extruder. Mastication of the mixture continues in at least one subsequent extruder section in the presence of additional tackifier. The product is a homogeneous, reduced-viscosity pressure-sensitive adhesive. The minor proportion of added C.sub.12-C.sub.24 fatty acid aids mastication of the rubber and enables high throughput without addition of peptizers. Duct tapes made from the adhesives display improved adhesion to steel, better adhesion bond strength, and enhanced seven-day clean removability from even difficult substrates such as marble or ceramic tile.
