Adhesive treatment for fiber for polymer reinforcement and reinforced products
An aqueous adhesive composition for treating a reinforcing fiber for bonding to a thermosetting polymer matrix and products made therefrom such as power transmission belts. The adhesive composition includes: water as the solvent or dispersing medium; a polyelectrolyte co-curable with the polymer matrix; a primer material compatible with the fiber and co-curable with the polyelectrolyte; and optionally a rubber curative compatible with the polyelectrolyte and the polymer matrix. A fiber-reinforced, composite polymer system may thus include a thermosetting polymer matrix, a reinforcing fiber embedded therein, and an adhesive composition coating the fiber; the adhesive composition including a polyelectrolyte co-curable with the polymer matrix and a primer material compatible with the fiber and co-curable with the polyelectrolyte. The adhesive composition may include a curative compatible with the polyelectrolyte. In one preferred embodiment, the invention is an aqueous adhesive composition including water, an epoxy resin, a maleated polybutadiene derivative, and a curative.

ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS
Disclosed herein is an adhesive composition that includes a resin composition and an epoxy-containing compound. The resin composition includes an epoxidized polysulfide and an epoxidized oil. The epoxidized polysulfide is present in the adhesive composition in a weight ratio to the epoxidized oil of 20:1 to 1:1. Also disclosed is the adhesive composition in an at least partially cured state. Also disclosed is a method for treating a substrate comprising applying the adhesive composition to a surface of a substrate; and applying an external energy source to cure the composition. Also disclosed are substrates comprising the adhesive composition in an at least partially cured state.

AQUEOUS ADHESIVE FOR TENNIS BALL
The aqueous adhesive for a tennis ball includes rubber latex. The rubber latex is a mixture of liquid rubber latex and solid rubber latex. A ratio of liquid rubber to an entire rubber component contained in the rubber latex is greater than 20% by weight and less than 90% by weight in terms of solid content. The tennis ball includes a seam formed of the aqueous adhesive for a tennis ball.

One-component toughened epoxy adhesives containing a mixture of latent curing agents
A one-component toughened epoxy-modified polyurethane and/or urea adhesive includes a mixture of dicyandiamide and a dihdyrazide as curing agents. The mixture of curing agents permits the adhesive to be cured at lower temperatures while developing good adhesive and mechanical properties in the cured adhesive.
