Body fluid resistant tissue adhesives

A tissue adhesive material that provides fast and robust adhesion even on tissue surfaces covered in bodily fluids. The tissue adhesive material is formed of a hydrophobic matrix and a plurality of bioadhesive microparticles dispersed within the hydrophobic matrix configured such that disposing the adhesive material directly on a fluid covered surface and applying pressure causes the (a) hydrophobic matrix to repel the fluid, (b) the bioadhesive particles to compress forming an adhesive layer, and (c) the bioadhesive particles to form temporary crosslinks followed by covalent crosslinks with the surface.

METHOD FOR PREPARING ACRYLATE LAMINATING ADHESIVE BY SOAP-FREE EMULSION POLYMERIZATION

A method for preparing an acrylate laminating adhesive by soap-free emulsion polymerization, and an acrylate laminating adhesive prepared by soap-free emulsion polymerization. In the method, an acrylate block oligomer with emulsifiability is synthesized by using a RAFT active radical polymerization process, and an acrylate monomer is emulsified by using the acrylate block oligomer for a semi-continuous emulsion polymerization, which overcomes a defect that traditional small molecule emulsifiers tend to migrate to a surface of an adhesive film to form a weak interface layer, resulting in a decreased bonding strength, a poor water resistance and the like. Further, in the disclosure, the use of n-pentanol as a chain transfer agent could not only reduce the molecular weight of polymer, improving fluidity and laminating uniformity of the adhesive, but also reduce the surface tension of the emulsion, improving coating wettability and levelling properties of the acrylate laminating adhesive.

ULTRAVIOLET CURABLE RESIN COMPOSITION

An ultraviolet curable resin composition having: a monomer and/or an oligomer having a polymerizable unsaturated double bond; a photopolymerization initiator; a polymerization inhibitor; and an acid having an acid dissociation constant (pKa1) in pure water of 4.0 or less.

(Meth)acrylic copolymer, adhesive composition and adhesive sheet containing same, and coating material and coated product using same

A (meth)acrylic acid copolymer (A) having a weight average molecular weight of 1000 to 1,000,000, and in which when the half-width of the primary scatter peak when measured by small angle X-ray scattering is defined as X, 0.12<X, is used as an adhesive. The (meth)acrylic copolymer (A) is obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing a macromonomer (a) having a number average molecular weight of 500-100,000, and a vinyl monomer (b). The adhesive has sufficient holding force and adhesive force, and the occurrence of adhesive deposit can be prevented when peeled off.

Silicone acrylate compositions and methods of preparing the same

Silicone acrylate copolymer composition, namely, silicone resin-acrylate copolymers and methods of preparing the same. The silicone acrylate composition may include a silicone resin coupled with an acrylate polymer via a linking group. The silicone acrylate composition may be formed by preparing an acrylate or a (meth)acrylate functional resin and carrying out acrylate polymerization in the presence of a functionalized resin. A silane-functional acrylate polymer may be prepared, followed by a reaction to couple a resin to the silane-functional acrylate polymer. The resulting copolymer may then be used as desired, e.g., added to a silicone and acrylate mixture to create a non-separating blend.
