Syrup polymer compositions and adhesives therefrom
Acrylic syrup polymer composition are provided by partially polymerizing a (meth)acrylic monomer mixture in the presence of a thiol chain transfer agent to produce a first syrup polymer composition comprising a low molecular weight solute (meth)acrylic copolymer and solvent monomers, quenching the chain transfer agent, further polymerizing the first syrup polymer composition to produce a second syrup polymer composition comprising the low molecular weight solute acrylic copolymer, a high molecular weight solute acrylic copolymer and optionally unreacted solvent monomers, optionally adding a crosslinker and photoinitiator; and further photopolymerizing the syrup polymer composition to produce a pressure-sensitive adhesive.
Water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive compositions
A pressure-sensitive adhesive is provided that is a dried product of a latex composition, which is formed from an emulsion composition. The latex composition and the emulsion composition are also provided. The emulsion composition has droplets that contain various monomers plus a (meth)acrylate polymer dissolved in the monomers. Additionally, an article containing a layer of the pressure-sensitive adhesive and a method of forming the pressure-sensitive adhesive are provided. The pressure-sensitive adhesives often have both high peel adhesion and high shear strength (i.e., high cohesive strength or high shear holding power).

(METH)ACRYLIC COPOLYMER, ADHESIVE COMPOSITION AND ADHESIVE SHEET CONTAINING SAME, AND COATING MATERIAL AND COATED PRODUCT USING SAME
A (meth)acrylic acid copolymer (A) having a weight average molecular weight of 1000 to 1,000,000, and in which when the half-width of the primary scatter peak when measured by small angle X-ray scattering is defined as X, 0.12<X, is used as an adhesive. The (meth)acrylic copolymer (A) is obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing a macromonomer (a) having a number average molecular weight of 500-100,000, and a vinyl monomer (b). The adhesive has sufficient holding force and adhesive force, and the occurrence of adhesive deposit can be prevented when peeled off.

AQUEOUS POLYMER DISPERSIONS FOR COMPOSITE FILM LAMINATION
Described are aqueous polymer dispersions for composite film lamination, comprising a dispersed polymer and a dissolved polymer, and also a multistage process for preparing them from ethylenically unsaturated, radically polymerizable monomers. In a first stage, a first polymer is prepared by radical emulsion polymerization. In a second stage, an aqueous polymer dispersion is prepared in the presence of the first polymer. The monomers of the first stage comprise monomers with acid groups. The dissolved polymer comprises monomers having oxazoline groups, and also water-soluble monomers. The aqueous polymer dispersions can be used as adhesive for producing composite films.
