The present invention relates to a composition for a pressure-sensitive adhesive comprising 100 parts by mass (non-volatile fraction) of a main agent comprising a mixture of a natural rubber latex and a synthetic rubber latex, 40 to 120 parts by mass of a rosin-based tackifier resin having a softening point of 130 to 135 C. and 1 to 15 parts by mass of low-molecular-weight polyisoprene having a weight-average molecular weight of 15,000 to 40,000.
METHOD OF TEMPORARILY PROTECTING A METAL SURFACE USING A PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE FILM
A method for temporarily protecting a surface uses a pressure-sensitive adhesive film and reduces unwinding force when the film is unwound. The pressure-sensitive adhesive film that comprises a backing coated on one side with a rubber adhesive containing at least 5 wt % of tackifying resin, and on the other side with a silicone epoxy varnish.

Adhesive sheet
An adhesive sheet in which the adhesive strength of an adhesive layer to other adherends is low, adhesive layers can be firmly bonded to each other, the adhesive layers will not be destroyed even if the adhesive layers are peeled after having once been bonded, and sufficient bonding strength is obtained even if the adhesive layers are re-bonded. An adhesive sheet in which an intermediate layer containing methyl methacrylate-grafted natural rubber is provided on a substrate containing a vinyl chloride resin and a plasticizer, and an adhesive layer including an adhesive containing the plasticizer and a rubber component containing natural rubber and methyl methacrylate-grafted natural rubber is provided on the intermediate layer, wherein a degree of swelling of the rubber component with respect to the plasticizer is by a factor of 1.5 to 4.5.
ADHESIVE TAPE
The invention relates to an adhesive tape having a carrier composed of a film with an adhesive applied on at least one side thereof the film being a monoaxially oriented film consisting to an extent of at least 95 wt %, preferably 99 wt %, more preferably 100 wt %, of propylene polymer composition having various phases and comprising the following components: i) 70 to 99 wt %, preferably 85 to 95 wt %, based on the total weight of components i) and ii), of a propylene polymer matrix comprising a propylene homopolymer and more preferably a preferably random propylene copolymer including a comonomer that is selected from ethylene and C.sub.4 to C.sub.10 -olefins, where the propylene polymer matrix has a comonomer content of not more than 15 wt %; 1 to 30 wt %, preferably 5 to 15 wt %, based on the total weight of components i) and ii), of a polypropylene having a modulus of elasticity of less than 150 MPa and a molecular weight M.sub.w of between 40 000 to 150 000 g/mol.
ADHESIVE TAPE
The invention relates to an adhesive tape comprising a backing consisting of a film, to at least one side of which an adhesive mass is applied, wherein the film is a monoaxially stretched film, at least 95 wt. % of which, preferably at least 99 wt. % of which, particularly preferably 100 wt. % of which consists of a propylene polymer composition having different phases and comprising the following components: i) 80 to 99 wt. %, preferably 93 to 96 wt. %, relative to the total weight of components i) and ii), of a propylene polymer matrix which comprises a propylene homopolymer and particularly preferably a propylene copolymer, preferably a propylene random copolymer, which has a comonomer selected from ethylene or C.sub.4- to C.sub.10--olefins, the propylene polymer matrix having a comonomer content of not more than 15 wt. %, ii) 1 to 20 wt. %, preferably 4 to 7 wt. %, relative to the total weight of components i) and ii), of an elastomer in the form of an ethylene-propylene copolymer having an ethylene content of 50 to 90 wt. %.
TAPES AND METHODS OF USE FOR MASKING ALUMINUM SURFACES IN CHROMIC ACID ANODIZATION
A tape includes: a flexible backing layer having two major surfaces, wherein the backing layer has a thickness of greater than 64 micrometers and up to 200 micrometers, and one major surface of the backing layer includes a primed surface; and a rubber-based pressure sensitive adhesive layer disposed on the primed surface of the backing layer, wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive layer has a thickness of at least 7.6 micrometers (and preferably up to 25 micrometers); wherein, when disposed on an aluminum substrate, the tape displays a peel adhesion of less than 20 oz/in (219 N/m) according to a Peel Adhesion Strength Test described in the Examples Section, and a leakage distance of less than 762 micrometers according to a Chromic Acid AnodizationLeakage Distance Test described in the Examples Section. A method of anodizing an aluminum surface includes: providing a substrate having an aluminum surface; applying a tape as described herein to mask the aluminum surface and form a masked substrate; and exposing the masked substrate to an electrolyte solution including chromic acid under conditions effective to form aluminum oxide.
ADHESIVE BONDING COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF USE
A method of and system for adhesive bonding by a) providing a polymerizable adhesive composition on a surface of an element to be bonded to form an assembly; b) irradiating the assembly with radiation at a first wavelength capable of vulcanization of bonds in the polymerizable adhesive composition by activation of sulfur-containing compound with at least one selected from x-ray, e-beam, visible, or infrared light to thereby generate ultraviolet light in the polymerizable adhesive composition; and c) adhesively joining two or more components together by way of the polymerizable adhesive composition.
Primer composition and adhesive tape
An object of the present invention is to provide a primer composition for application between the base film and the adhesive layer of an adhesive tape that can improve the adhesion between the base film and the adhesive layer of the adhesive tape and an adhesive tape prepared by using the primer composition. A primer composition, comprising 100 parts by mass (as solid matter) of a graft polymer of a natural rubber graft-polymerized with 15 to 65 mass % of methyl methacrylate and 25 to 300 parts by mass of a carboxyl group-modified acrylonitrile butadiene rubber.
Pressure-sensitive adhesive layers with surface-enriched stripes and methods of making
Herein are disclosed a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on a substrate, the adhesive layer containing stripes of first and second pressure-sensitive adhesives. The surface of the adhesive layer that faces the substrate is surface-enriched with the first pressure-sensitive adhesive. Methods of making are disclosed.
