Organopolysiloxane cured film, use thereof, and method for producing same

An organopolysiloxane cured film which can be made thin, has an extremely low number of defects on a surface and inside of the film, and exhibits high dielectric breakdown strength with regard to a load voltage is provided. Also provided are applications thereof and a method of manufacturing. The organopolysiloxane cured film has an average thickness within a range of 1 to 200 μm. In general, the number of surface defects is 0 to 1, and the number of internal defects is 0 to 20, when measuring the number of surface defects using optical means in an arbitrary position on the organopolysiloxane cured film with a unit area of 15 mm×15 mm. The organopolysiloxane cured film may be obtained by a rolling step in a clean room or the like, or may be obtained by curing between separators provided with a release layer.

Provided are adhesive articles and related methods that use a foam layer including an acrylic polymer or silicone polymer and having a pair of opposing major surfaces. An adhesive surface is disposed on each of the opposing major surfaces and a plurality of channels extend across at least one adhesive surface. The adhesive surface defining the channels contains a pressure-sensitive adhesive having a rheology enabling the plurality of channels to essentially disappear over time when the adhesive article is compressed. Advantageously, the provided articles and methods enable high immediate bond and handling strength, a high degree of wet out, weatherability, and superior aesthetics when used with transparent or translucent substrates.

TIE LAYER CHEMISTRY TO PROMOTE BONDING WITH SILICONE ADHESIVE

The present invention is adhesive article including a tie layer and a silicone adhesive. The tie layer includes a segmented copolymer having a first segment that is one of (a) a polyether comprising one of PTMO or PEO/PPO or (b) a polysiloxane. The segmented copolymer has a water absorbency of less than about 13%.

Further, the polymer material is chemically precrosslinked and further crosslinkable with moisture. In addition, the polymer material is configured for use as a layer body that can be applied to a substrate. The polymer material of this kind can also be used for producing permanent bonds.
