A tackifying resin includes a farnesene-based polymer having monomeric units derived from a farnesene monomer and one or more optional comonomers selected from the group consisting of dienes, branched mono-olefins, and vinyl aromatics and has a softening point greater than or equal to 80 degrees Celsius. A method of making the farnesene-based polymer includes combining a farnesene monomer and a solvent and optionally adding one or more comonomers selected from the group consisting of dienes, branched mono-olefins, and vinyl aromatics, to provide a monomer feed, and polymerizing the monomer feed by combining the monomer feed with a Friedel-Crafts catalyst in a vessel. The tackifying resin may be combined with an elastomer to form a hot melt adhesive composition.

The base polymer, the tackifier and the plasticizer are colourless and odourless. The base polymer is a styrene block copolymer. The mechanically recyclable label (1) is mechanically recyclable with packaging material comprising ethylene containing polymer. The disclosure further relates to a label laminate (8), a method for manufacturing a label laminate (8), a labelled item (101), as well as to use of a label (1) and of a label laminate (8). The disclosure also relates to use of a waste matrix of the label laminate for producing granulates of recycled plastic.

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a label (2) comprising a face (1) and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer (4), wherein the method comprises steps of applying an acrylic adhesive onto a first surface of the face (1), wherein the acrylic adhesive comprises a wash-off additive comprising a resinous material and a grafted rosin ester, and drying the acrylic adhesive in order to form an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive onto the first surface of the face (1), thereby obtaining the label (2). The invention further relates to a label comprising a face (1) and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer (4), wherein the acrylic adhesive comprises a wash-off additive comprising a resinous material and a grafted rosin ester.

An adhesive for temporarily fixing an electronic component to a solder precoat covered at least partially with an organic film, the adhesive including a principal resin, and a solvent dissolving the principal resin. The content of the solvent is 25 mass % or more and 40 mass % or less, and the organic film dissolves in the solvent when the solder precoat is melted. According thereto, the formation of an oxide film on the surface of the solder precoat can be suppressed, and poor connection between the electrode having the solder precoat and the electronic component can be suppressed.

Branched amorphous polyamide (co)polymers and methods of making and using same

Branched amorphous polyamide (co)polymers having a backbone formed by reacting a reaction mixture including at least 25 mol % of a di-amine selected from a secondary di-amine, a branched di-amine, or a combination thereof; and an aliphatic acid blend including a branched aliphatic dimer acid and a branched aliphatic trimer acid. The molar equivalent ratio of the di amine to the aliphatic acid blend is 0.9-1.1. Preferably, the branched amorphous polyamide (co)polymer is not telechelic. The branched amorphous polyamide (co)polymer preferably exhibits one or more of a shear modulus of from 10,000 to 500,000 Pa at 70 C., a complex viscosity of greater than 1,000,000 mPa*s at 70 C., a glass transition temperature of less than 25 C., or a number average molecular weight of greater than 10,000 Da. Biodegradable and/or compostable adhesive articles including the branched amorphous polyamide (co)polymer also are disclosed.

The present invention aims to provide an adhesive sheet excellent in both shear strength and slurry resistance at high temperature and excellent in removability that enables removal without adhesive residue. The present invention also aims to provide a polishing pad with an adhesive sheet including the adhesive sheet. Provided is an adhesive sheet including at least one adhesive layer, the adhesive layer containing a base polymer, a tackifier resin (T1) having a hydroxy value of less than 20 mgKOH/g, and a tackifier resin (T2) having a hydroxy value of 20 mgKOH/g or more and 120 mgKOH/g or less, the base polymer being a block copolymer of a monovinyl-substituted aromatic compound and a conjugated diene compound, and the adhesive layer containing the tackifier resin (T1) in an amount of 10 parts by weight or more and 60 parts by weight or less relative to 100 parts by weight of the base polymer, and the tackifier resin (T2) in an amount of 1 part by weight or more and 40 parts by weight or less relative to 100 parts by weight of the base polymer.
