Infrared emitting fluoride phosphor and infrared light emitting device
An infrared emitting fluoride phosphor and an infrared light emitting device are provided. The infrared emitting fluoride phosphor includes an activation center of Cr.sup.3+. The infrared light emitting device includes a light source and the infrared emitting fluoride phosphor. The light source is disposed to emit a first light, and the first light has a wavelength of 400-700 nm. The infrared emitting fluoride phosphor is configured to be excited by the first light to emit a first infrared ray. The first infrared ray has a wavelength of 650-1000 nm. The infrared light emitting device has a broad emission wavelength, such that it can be applied in variety of sensing device.

The present invention further relates to novel photosensitive compositions, their use as photoresists, and methods related to patterning polymer layers on substrates. Further, modifications to the compositions and method provide for an unprecedented functionalization of the compositions, useful for example in the preparation of sensors, drug delivery systems, and tissue scaffolds. The novel compositions and associated methods also provide for the opportunity to prepare 3-dimensional objects which provide new access to critically dimensioned devices, including for example photonic devices.

A glass for radiation detection, comprising, in mol %, 0.1 to 30% of SiO.sub.2+B.sub.2O.sub.3, 0 to 20% of SiO.sub.2, 0 to 10% of B.sub.2O.sub.3, 40 to 70% of P.sub.2O.sub.5, 10 to 30% of Al.sub.2O.sub.3, 10 to 30% of Na.sub.2O, and 0.01 to 2% of Ag.sub.2O.

A security system, such as a banknote, comprises: i) a substrate, ii) a first ink, which is applied on at least a part of at least one surface of the substrate, wherein the first ink includes at least one IR luminescent dye and/or at least one IR luminescent pigment, and iii) a second non-luminescent ink, which is applied on at least a part of at least one surface of the substrate onto which the first ink is/are applied, wherein the second ink includes at least one non-luminescent IR absorbing pigment and/or a least one non-luminescent IR absorbing dye, wherein the first ink and the second ink at least partially overlap on the at least one surface of the substrate, wherein the second ink is applied in the overlapping area onto the first ink, and wherein the emission spectrum of the first ink and the absorption spectrum of the second ink at least partially overlap.
High efficiency fluorescent compound and method for preparing the same
The present invention provides a fluorescent resveratrone [(E)-4-(6,8-dihydroxynaphthalen-2-yl)but-3-en-2-one] and its derivatives having Formula 1 and a method for preparing the same by a photochemical reaction of resveratrol and its derivatives which are not fluorescent having Formula 7 or Formula 8. The new fluorescent compounds of the present invention has single-photon absorptive characteristics and/or two-photon absorptive characteristics as well as no or little toxicity according to a cytotoxicity test and can be usefully utilized in the field of organic fluorescent element, display element, spectrometer, two-photon absorptive storing device, laser micro processing apparatus, photo dynamic therapy apparatus and the like.

A light emitting device includes a light emitting element having an emission peak wavelength in a range of 380 nm or more and 490 nm or less, and a red fluorescent material which is excited by the light from the light emitting element to emit light having at least one light emission peak wavelength in a range of 580 nm or more and 680 nm or less, wherein a ratio of the photon flux R of red light in a range of 620 nm or more and 700 nm or less to the photon flux B of blue light in a range of 400 nm or more and 490 nm or less, R/B, is in a range of more than 20 and 200 or less.
System and method for making quantum dots
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide for methods of making quantum dots (QDs) (passivated or unpassivated) using a continuous flow process, systems for making QDs using a continuous flow process, and the like. In one or more embodiments, the QDs produced using embodiments of the present disclosure can be used in solar photovoltaic cells, bio-imaging, IR emitters, or LEDs.
LIGHT CONVERSION DEVICE WITH ENHANCED INORGANIC BINDER
A light conversion device comprising a layer formed from an inorganic binder, the inorganic binder comprising: from about 25 to about 80 wt % of a filler; from about 20 to about 75 wt % of an inorganic adhesive; and from about 0.5 to about 5 wt % of a dispersant. The inorganic binders are capable of withstanding high temperatures, have a high light transmittance, have a high tensile-shear strength, can be applied by a flexible coating process, and have a low curing temperature. Such inorganic binders could advantageously be employed in a variety of applications, such light tunnels (300), projection display systems, and optical light conversion devices, such as phosphor wheels (100), used in such systems.
