Methods and compositions of treating subterranean formations with a novel resin system
Embodiments including methods of treating a subterranean formation comprising providing a solvent-based treatment fluid comprising a liquid resin agent, wherein the liquid resin agent comprises the reaction product of a multifunctional electrophilic compound comprising at least two electrophilic reactive groups and at least one nucleophilic compound selected from the group consisting of a dimer acid; a dimer diamine; any derivative thereof; and any combination thereof, and wherein the multifunctional electrophilic compound comprises at least two electrophilic reactive groups; introducing the solvent-based treatment fluid into the subterranean formation; and curing the liquid resin agent.
POLYMER-CONTAINING COMPOSITIONS HAVING REDUCED HYDROPHOBIC LIQUID CONTENT AND METHODS
Methods of reducing an amount of hydrophobic liquid in a polymer-containing composition, such as a composition that includes a polymer, a surfactant, and water. Polymer-containing compositions having a reduced hydrophobic liquid content. Methods of polymer flooding.
Method for modifying the properties of an aqueous suspension
A method for modifying the properties of a suspension of solid or liquid particles in an aqueous medium, includes the step of adding to the suspension or to the aqueous medium a polymer prepared by inverse emulsion polymerization of monomers A.sub.b, comprising a betaine group, and of nonionic monomers B.sub.a included in an aqueous phase dispersed in the form of droplets in a hydrophobic external phase, wherein the molar ratio of the monomers A.sub.b to the monomers B.sub.a is from about 4/96 to about 40/60, the polymer exhibits an intrinsic viscosity of greater than 600 mL/g, the reduced specific viscosity being measured by dissolving the polymer in a 20% by weight aqueous NaCl solution.
Oil based concentrated slurries and methods for making and using same
New hydrocarbon based slurry compositions and drilling, fracturing, completion and production fluids including the hydrocarbon based slurry composition are disclosed, where the composition includes a hydrocarbon soluble polymer adapted to decrease particle settling rates of particulate materials present in the fluids and in the case of fluids that include hydratable materials to increase hydration properties of such materials.
Methods to recover cesium formate from a mixed alkali metal formate blend
Methods to recover or separate cesium formate or rubidium formate or both from a mixed alkali metal formate blend are described. One method involves adding cesium sulfate or rubidium sulfate to the mixed alkali metal formate blend in order to preferentially precipitate potassium sulfate from the mixed alkali metal formate blend. Another method involves adding cesium carbonate or cesium bicarbonate or both to preferentially precipitate potassium carbonate/bicarbonate and/or other non-cesium or non-rubidium metals from the mixed alkali metal blend. Further optional steps are also described. Still one other method involves converting cesium sulfate to cesium hydroxide.
METHOD OF INCREASING SCALE INHIBITOR RETENTION
A method for increasing the retention of a scale inhibitor within a hydrocarbon producing system is provided. The method includes, the steps of: (i) pre-flushing the system with a liquid; (ii) treating the system with a scale inhibitor; and (iii) over-flushing the system with a composition comprising an ionic polymer and a liquid carrier. The concentration of the ionic polymer in the composition is 5 to 50% wt.
