A NOVEL METHOD AND AN APPARATUS IN CONVERTING UNSORTED MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE INTO GEO-POLYMER PELLETS/BRIQUETTES AND GEO-POLYMER BRICKS/PAVER BLOCKS
Apparatus and method in converting municipal solid waste into geo-polymer briquettes and geo-polymer bricks comprising bag opener cum crushers, magnetic separators for ferrous and-eddy current separators for non-ferrous things; squeezer for removing liquid content; inter particle collision driers for drying; pulverizer for pulverizing, and devolatizing carbonization reactor for carbonisation of combustible MSW to produce solid char with low water content. Solid char is mixed with geo-polymer binding agent/starch/tar/to form combustible pellet/briquette. These highly combustible briquette/pellets have high calorific value. The pellet/briquette is formed by rotating combustible char at high rpm and compaction. Pellet has a water content of less than 5% by weight and fuel value of 5500 to 6500 KCAL. This process produces non-combustible geo-polymer brick. The non-combustible MSW separated by a trommel is crushed by inter particle collision crusher and pan mixers mixing with geo-polymer binding agent/fly ash/quarry dust/chips or china clay and moulded.
Automatic draft control system for coke plants
A coke oven includes an oven chamber, an uptake duct in fluid communication with the oven chamber, the uptake duct being configured to receive exhaust gases from the oven chamber, an uptake damper in fluid communication with the uptake duct, the uptake damper being positioned at any one of multiple positions, the uptake damper configured to control an oven draft, an actuator configured to alter the position of the uptake damper between the positions in response to a position instruction, a sensor configured to detect an operating condition of the coke oven, wherein the sensor includes one of a draft sensor, a temperature sensor configured to detect an uptake duct temperature or a sole flue temperature, and an oxygen sensor, and a controller being configured to provide the position instruction to the actuator in response to the operating condition detected by the sensor.
Thermal remediation system and process
The present invention provides a system for thermal remediation and/or the processing of a feed materials like contaminated materials, waste polymeric materials, waste paper products, waste wood and biomass. The system comprises at least one thermal screw conveyor provided in a housing under pressure, a first plug screw conveyor in a housing in communication with an inlet of thermal screw conveyor housing and a second plug screw conveyor in a housing in communication with an outlet of thermal screw conveyor housing. The thermal housing is configured to heat the feed material to form one or more vaporized products and a solid residue, wherein one or more vaporized products are removed through the one or more vapor ports provided in the pressure housing, and the solid residue is discharged from an outlet of the second seal-housing.
Thermal remediation system and process
The present invention provides a system for thermal remediation and/or the processing of a feed materials like contaminated materials, waste polymeric materials, waste paper products, waste wood and biomass. COKE OVEN CHARGING SYSTEM
The present technology is generally directed to coal charging systems used with coke ovens. In some embodiments, a coal charging system includes a charging head having opposing wings that extend outwardly from the charging head, leaving an open pathway through which coal may be directed toward side edges of the coal bed. In other embodiments, an extrusion plate is positioned on a rearward face of the charging head and oriented to engage and compress coal as the coal is charged along a length of the coking oven. In other embodiments, charging plates extend outwardly from inward faces of opposing wings.

The invention relates to a process for producing hybrid carbon black particles (12), which comprises the steps: a) production of first carbon black starting particles (16); b) production of second carbon black starting particles (22); c) milling of the second carbon black starting particles (22); d) mixing of the second carbon black starting particles (22) into a particle stream (48) of the first carbon black starting particles (16); and d) pelletization of the first and second carbon black starting particles (16, 22) to form hybrid carbon black particles (12). The invention further relates to an apparatus (10) for producing hybrid carbon black particles (12) and to hybrid carbon black particles (12) produced by means of the process or the apparatus (10).

Method and system for optimizing coke plant operation and output
The present technology is generally directed to methods of increasing coke production rates for coke ovens. In some embodiments, a coal charging system includes a false door system with a false door that is vertically oriented to maximize an amount of coal being charged into the oven. A lower extension plate associated with embodiments of the false door is selectively, automatically extended beyond a lower end portion of the false door in order to extend an effective length of the false door. In other embodiments an extension plate may be coupled with an existing false door having an angled front surface to provide the existing false door with a vertically oriented face.

PROCESS FOR DEVOLATIZING A FEEDSTOCK
Provided herein is a method for devolatizing a solid feedstock. The solid feedstock is treated to a produce a particle size laying between 1 cm.sup.3 and 100 cm.sup.3. The solid feedstock is passed into a device connected to an outlet of a compaction screw auger comprising an assembly including a solid feedstock injector, a retort, a side arm for injecting a heated gas comprising hydrogen, and a process auger. The solid feedstock is contacted with the heated gas at a temperature of 500 C. to 1000 C. for a time of 60 seconds to 120 seconds, whereby the solid feedstock is converted into a gas stream and a solid stream.
