CHAIN DRAG SYSTEM FOR TREATMENT OF CARBANEOUS WASTE FEEDSTOCK AND METHOD FOR THE USE THEREOF
A drag chain carbonizer is provided with a system and methods for anaerobic thermal conversion processing to convert waste into various solid carbonized products and varied further co-products. The drag-chain carbonizer includes an adjustable bed depth mechanism, a heating mechanism, a pressure management mechanism, an atmospheric management mechanism, and a chain tensioning mechanism containing at least one position sensor for communication of an actuator position to at least one programmable logic controller (PLC). Carbonaceous waste is transformed into useful co-products that can be re-introduced into the stream of commerce at various economically advantageous points. Depending upon the input materials and the parameters selected to process the waste, including real time economic and other market parameters, the system adjusts co-products output to reflect changing market conditions.

Processing organic materials
A method and an apparatus for pyrolysing a solid organic feed material are disclosed. Solid organic material is moved through a reaction chamber and exposed to a temperature profile within the chamber that dries and pyrolyses the organic material and releases water vapour and a volatile products gas phase. The water vapour phase and the volatile products gas phase are moved counter-current to the solid organic material so that the water vapour phase and condensable components of the volatile products gas phase condense in cooler upstream sections of the chamber and form a liquid water product and a separate liquid oil product. The liquid water product is discharged via an outlet along the length of the chamber and a dried and pyrolysed solid product is discharged from a downstream outlet in the chamber.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PYROLYSIS OF PLASTICS
A continuous pyrolysis system including a pyrolysis chamber, a heating chamber, a feeding chamber having a pressure input, an output coupled to the pyrolysis chamber, and a feeding opening opened to ambient atmosphere, a flame injector injecting ambient air and combustible material into the heating chamber, a pumping device with an input coupled to the heating chamber, and an output coupled to the pressure input of the feeding chamber, a O.sub.2 sensor within the heating chamber, and/or a pressure transducer within the feeding chamber, and a controller coupled to the O.sub.2 sensor, the pressure transducer, the flame injector, and the pumping device, for controlling the flame injector to inject ambient air and/or combustible material to maintain within the heating chamber O.sub.2 concentration between 8% and 10%, and/or for controlling the pumping device to maintain pressure in the feeding chamber above ambient pressure.
Updraft gasifier and method, apparatus, and system for biomass decomposition
A method, system, and apparatus for decomposing a biomass feedstock include providing a layer of inert particulate matter, such as sand, to line and insulate the bottom surface of a main chamber of a reactor where pyrolysis and oxidation are conducted to produce char and producer gases as primary products. In an embodiment, feedstock positioned in a side region of the reaction chamber insulates side walls of the main chamber from heat in the center region of the main chamber. In an embodiment of the method, a rate of removal of solid products such as char from the reactor is controlled in response to a temperature detected at a position of an extraction tube inlet of the reactor. Activated charcoal may be obtained as a primary product using the system and method, by feeding oxygen into the reactor at an inlet positioned adjacent to an inlet to the extraction chamber.
