A method for forming a plate includes attaching a first strand portion to a flexible substrate to form a first layer on the substrate and positioning a second strand portion on the first layer to form a second layer on the first layer in a plurality of discrete regions on the substrate. The method also includes positioning a plurality of traction elements into corresponding cavities formed into a first mold surface and positioning the substrate on the first mold surface to change a shape of the substrate. At least one of heat and pressure is applied to the first strand portion, the second strand portion, the substrate, and the traction elements to conform the substrate to the shape of the first mold surface and form the traction elements into the substrate at each of the discrete regions. The method also includes incorporating the substrate into an article of footwear.

Disclosed is a disposable hair conditioning cap to facilitate deep hair conditioning. The disposable hair conditioning cap may include a plurality of fabric layers conforming to a crown of a user. Further, the disposable hair conditioning cap may include at least one heating element disposed within at least one of the plurality of fabric layers. A head cooling hat assembly for cooling a user's head includes a hat that is wearable on a user's head and the hat has a chamber integrated therein. A cooling pack is insertable into the chamber in the hat. Thus, the cooling pack is in thermal communication with the user's head when the user wears the hat. The cooling pack is comprised of a freezable material to cool the user's head when the user wears the hat.

Described herein are sweat-diverting devices which can be adhered to a wearer by an adhesive. The sweat-diverting devices described here may be adhered over a portion of the face without circumscribing the head. Such sweat-diverting devices may comprise one or more curves or other features that conform to the facial features of the wearer. In some variations, a sweat-diverting device is configured to be worn at various heights on the forehead, over or under the brow line, and/or over the eyes. A sweat-diverting device can also be used in pairs, for example, where one device is positioned over each eye. Sun-shading devices, with or without sweat-diverting features, are also described.
