A headgear apparatus is disclosed comprising a molded headgear apparatus which includes a cushioned core component to provide impact resistance during an activity. The headgear is configured to be low-profile to reduce the loss of vision caused by thick headgear which extends away from the face. The headgear may be molded to the facial contour of the user to provide complete protection from cuts, scrapes, swelling, and impact encountered in impact sports, such as martial arts, football, or other sports wherein impact to the head region is possible.

GARMENT WITH SELECTIVE HOOD RETENTION AND METHOD OF SELECTIVELY RETAINING A HOOD
20210037904 · 2021-02-11 ·

A hood (16) of an upper body garment (10) is selectively retained and deployed. A first retention element (18) is provided on a main garment portion (14), a second retention element (20) is provided on the hood (16) and optionally, a third retention element (28) is provided on a helmet (16). The garment (10) can be worn like a conventional garment, with the hood (16) up or down, but when the hood (16) is down, it is retained place behind the wearer's back, by magnetic attachment of the first and second retention elements (18,20). The hood (16) can also be worn over the helmet (26) and can be held in place by magnetic attachment of the third retention element (28) on the helmet (26), to the second retention element (20) on the hood (16).

Protective Helmet

The protective helmet may comprise a flexible protective helmet that includes a plurality of impact zones that could be particularized to a specific occupation, sport, player-position and/or the individual behavior of a specific player. The protective helmet comprising a plurality of impact mitigation pads coupled to a flexible liner may easily conform to a head of wearer. The different embodiments comprise elements to provide a padded protective helmet that is flexible or semi-flexible, light-weight and adapted to reduce the risk of head trauma due to the multi-layered padded configuration.

Modular helmet interface

A modular helmet interface with a mounting cleat and adhesive layer is provided. In one aspect, a mounting cleat is affixed to a helmet, such as a ballistic helmet, by an adhesive layer, the mounting cleat having a cavity filled with the adhesive used to secure the cleat to the helmet. In a further aspect, the mounting cleat has one or more annular grooves for improving the bond between the cleat and the helmet. In another aspect, a mounting cleat is secured to a helmet by way of a cleat-receiving securing member, the securing member affixed to the helmet by an adhesive layer.

PROTECTIVE HELMET WITH ATTACHMENT RING

A protective helmet adapted to receive and protect the head of a wearer includes an outer shell and an attachment ring removably secured to the outer shell, such that the attachment ring can be selectively attached to or detached and removed from the outer shell. The outer shell is shaped to protect the head of the wearer of the protective helmet and defines a bottom opening and an internal cavity for receiving the head of the wearer. The attachment ring acts as a point of attachment for, and thus secures, one or more components of the protective helmet configured to engage the head of the wearer, such that the components secured to the attachment ring are transported with the attachment ring when the attachment ring is detached and removed from the outer shell.

Protective apparatus with grooves

A sports accessory is provided to be worn by a user during a sport activity. The accessory includes a flexure system. The flexure system includes a support structure including a plurality of intersecting grooves disposed along a surface of the support structure, where a plurality of segments are defined along the surface of the support structure between the intersecting grooves such that the support structure is configured to flex along the grooves with segments moving in relation to other segments during use of the sports accessory.

System for mitigating musculoskeletal stresses from head-related moments exerted on a person

In an aspect, a stress mitigation system is provided for mitigating stresses in a wearer of a headgear configured to apply a load on the wearer that is offset from a center of gravity of the wearer's head to apply a first torque in a first direction on the wearer's head. The system includes a track, a shuttle, and a flexible elongate connector. The track is mounted to either the headgear or a bodywear member and extends generally laterally. The shuttle is movable along the track. The connector is configured to connect between the shuttle and the other of the headgear and the bodywear member. The connector applies a second torque on the headgear in a second direction that is generally opposite to the first direction. When the wearer's head pivots, the shuttle is movable laterally along the track to maintain the connector in a substantially vertical orientation.
