A hair covering to protect styled, typically long, hair from the effects of excessive wind. The hair covering is made of lightweight fabric such as thin nylon often used for windbreaker jackets, and thus the hair covering is termed a hair windbreaker. In one aspect, the adhering portion is configured to releasably adhere to a wearer's body surface and a garment body surface with friction, wherein the friction is sufficient to hold the apparatus and article in a fixed position without the need for adhesives or mechanical fasteners. Also disclosed herein method of using said textile having an integral skin adhering substrate and methods for making the disclosed apparatuses and articles.
