The present invention relates to a hybrid hat having a shape of a visor and a bucket hat. The hat can feature a strap or headband to secure to a wearer's head, and a brim extending therefrom to protect a wearer's face, neck, and ears from sunlight. The hat offers circumferential sun protection of a bucket hat, while allowing for the wearer's hair to extend freely above the headband by having an open aired top portion, similar to a visor. The hat can include an adjustable strap/cord and brim to selectively fit the hat to form a closed circular loop to circumscribe the head of the wearer. The hat can be adjusted by a drawstring which is concealed in a decorative sleeve disposed around the headband. The drawstring can be cinched to adjust the diameter of the headband to fit the size of head of a wearer.

A headwear retaining device; the headwear retaining device includes an elongated strap having a first spring-loaded tension clip, a second spring-loaded tension clip, and a securing tab. The first spring-loaded tension clip is positioned at a first-end of the elongated strap. The second spring-loaded tension clip is positioned at a second-end of the elongated strap opposing the first spring-loaded tension clip. The securing tab is spring-loaded and allows for adjustability of the elongated strap. The first spring-loaded tension clip and the second spring-loaded tension clip are configured to engage with and secure opposing side panels of an article of headwear during use and prevent unwanted removal of the article of headwear during wear.

A headwear retaining device; the headwear retaining device includes an elongated strap having a first spring-loaded tension clip, a second spring-loaded tension clip, and a securing tab. The first spring-loaded tension clip is positioned at a first-end of the elongated strap. The second spring-loaded tension clip is positioned at a second-end of the elongated strap opposing the first spring-loaded tension clip. The securing tab is spring-loaded and allows for adjustability of the elongated strap. The first spring-loaded tension clip and the second spring-loaded tension clip are configured to engage with and secure opposing side panels of an article of headwear during use and prevent unwanted removal of the article of headwear during wear.

Embodiments are disclosed for a clasp configured to accommodate a strap of a piece of headwear, including a top loop having a catch end at a first side of the clasp, the top loop including a top portion that extends from a second side of the clasp to the first side along a horizontal axis of the clasp, the catch end extending from the top portion along an s-shaped curve to form a tip of the catch end; a bottom loop coupled to the top loop via a common middle portion, a top surface of the common middle portion having a lip; and a depression at the top loop on the second side, a thinnest part of the top loop at the second side of the clasp being formed by the depression.
