SYNGAS AND LIQUID FUEL PRODUCTION FROM OLIGOMERIZATION BYPRODUCTS
A process for the production of a liquid fuel from carbon oxides and hydrogen is disclosed. The process comprises reacting a mixture of carbon oxides and hydrogen to produce methanol. The methanol is contacted with an MTO catalyst to produce an olefin stream. The olefin stream is oligomerized with an oligomerization catalyst to produce an oligomerized olefin stream which is then hydrogenated to produce the liquid fuel streams jet fuel, diesel, and naphtha. At each stage, waste streams are produced. A syngas stream is produced comprising carbon oxides and hydrogen by (1) steam reforming, autothermal reforming, or dry reforming; or (2) partial oxidization.

Subterranean Gasification System and Method
A system and method for gasification of a feedstock in a subterranean formation to produce syngas is described. An injection well is completed in the formation to inject an oxidant, provide an ignition source and convey the feedstock that includes water and one or more of a biomass, waste plastic, coal, bitumen and petcoke. Volatized hydrocarbons and gaseous reaction products are simultaneously withdrawn from a producer well from the subterranean formation to the surface. This syngas product is treated at the surface for power generation or conversion to transportation fuels and/or plastics. This method provides a low capital cost gasification unit which is capable of processing a variety of feedstock mixtures.
Treatment of waste material
A method of treating comminuted waste material, the method comprises: a) feeding comminuted waste material into a heating chamber (28); b) introducing steam into the heating chamber (28); c) contacting the steam and comminuted waste material; d) heating the steam and comminuted waste material to generate a combustible gas; and e) altering or controlling the ratio of steam to comminuted waste material such that the generated combustible gas comprises a target amount (e.g. value or percentage) of a component thereof.
