Alkylated alkoxydiarylamine antioxidants
Alkylated diaryl amines further substituted by an alkoxy group on one or more aryl carbon atoms exhibit excellent antioxidant activity in lubricant compositions.
Fatty acid and rosin based ionic liquids
The present disclosure provides an ionic liquid produced from a renewable source and with excellent lubricating properties, and methods of making the same. The ionic liquid includes an anion salt of at least one of a fatty acid, a rosin acid, or derivative thereof. The method for making the ionic liquid or lubricant composition of the present disclosure includes admixing a cation and an anion in a ratio of about a 1.5:1 to about 1:1.5 at room temperature to form a reaction mixture, wherein the anion comprises at least one of a fatty acid, a rosin acid, derivative thereof, or a combination thereof, and the cation comprises at least one of choline, imidazolium, pyridium, pyrrolidinium, ammonium, phosphonium, sulfonium, derivatives thereof, or combinations thereof; maintaining the reaction mixture at a pH of about 6 to about 9; and drying under reduced pressure to yield a lubricant including an ionic liquid.
Spent Coffee Grounds as a Lubricant in Pelleting of Wood
Pellets and a process for producing pellets are disclosed. The process includes recovering spent coffee grounds from a coffee production facility. The coffee grounds are then subject to a drying process to remove moisture from the coffee grounds to form dried coffee grounds. A mixture of about 0.5-5% dried coffee grounds and wood material is then formed. The mixture is then compressed in a pellet mill to form wood pellets including about 0.5-5% coffee grounds. The coffee grounds in the wood material acts as a lubricant for the pelleting machinery and eliminate the need for other lubricants in the process.
Heat treatment oil composition
A heat treatment oil composition is provided that suppresses the decrease of luster in a heat treatment of a metal material, and is capable of suppressing the increase of the number of second (characteristic number of second) until reaching the temperature where the vapor blanket stage ends with the lapse of time and the decrease of the kinetic viscosity with the lapse of time. The heat treatment oil composition contains (A) a base oil and (B) a vapor blanket breaking agent selected from one or more of a petroleum resin, a terpene resin, rosin, and derivatives thereof.

Dry lubricator for plastic and stainless steel surfaces
A dry lubricant for conveyor belts and other surfaces set for lubricating through direct application via a nozzle is disclosed. Lubricants including a homogeneous mixture of fatty acids, a hydrocarbon such as a mineral oil, a sorbitan ester, and a polyglycol, which are substantially-free of water are disclosed. Methods of using the lubricants in dry and semi-dry modes are further disclosed.
