LUBRICATING COMPOSITION COMPRISING A DIESTER
Lubricating compositions for motor vehicles are disclosed. The lubricating composition is of grade according to the SAE J300 classification defined by the formula (X)W(Y), wherein X represents 0 or 5; and Y represents an integer ranging from 4 to 20; and comprises at least one diester of formula R.sup.a—C(O)—O—([C(R).sub.2].sub.n—O).sub.s—C(O)—R.sup.b (I). The composition may be used as a lubricant for an engine, in particular a vehicle engine, to reduce the fuel consumption of the engine and to improve engine cleanliness

Sulfurized catecholate detergents for lubricating compositions
A lubricating composition includes a sulfurized oxy-substituted aromatic polyol compound and an oil of lubricating viscosity. The sulfurized oxy-substituted aromatic polyol compound includes at least one of a sulfurized oxy-substituted aromatic polyol and a salt of a sulfurized oxy-substituted aromatic polyol. The compound is suitable as a replacement for detergents that contain C.sub.n alkyl phenols derived from oligomers of propylene.

LUBRICATING GREASE COMPOSITION
A lubricating grease composition, and more specifically, to a lubricating grease composition which, when used with an article clamping device, such as a chuck, produces excellent lubricating properties whilst remaining strongly adhered to metal parts in the clamping mechanism of the device and showing enhanced chemical and physical resistance to fluids such as cutting fluids with which they come into contact.

Polyol ester compositions
Compositions, systems and methods for introducing lubricants, and additives, that are designed to work with environmentally friendly refrigerants into vehicle heat management systems including passenger compartment air conditioning (A/C) systems are disclosed. Methods for charging lubricants and specific additives using environmentally desirable (low GWP) refrigerant or refrigerant blend compositions into an environmentally friendly system, such as a system that uses HFO-1234yf, are also disclosed.
LUBRICANT COMPOSITION CONTAINING ASHLESS TBN MOLECULES
New ashless TBN molecules are synthesized, and lubricant compositions containing them, boost the total base number. The lubricant compositions further tested for ASTM D6594 copper corrosion test meets ASTM limits.

LUBRICANT COMPOSITIONS FOR HIGH EFFICIENCY ENGINES
The instant disclosure is directed to a method of lubricating a sump-lubricated, high efficiency, gasoline-fueled internal combustion engine. Said method involves supplying to the engine a lubricating composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity, an anti-wear agent, an ashless antioxidant, a metal-containing detergent, an ashless polyolefin dispersant, and (f) a polymeric viscosity modifier. The disclosure further provides a method of operating a high efficiency sump-lubricated gasoline-fueled internal combustion engine while maintaining or improving at least one of durability, deposit control, oxidation control, fuel economy, and resistance to knock and stochastic pre-ignition.
