3D Decorative Add On
A decorative add-on in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention is structured and arranged to be attached to an article such as a shoe. The decorative add-on includes an aesthetic portion and an attachment portion. Typically, the aesthetic portion is prominently or noticeably 3D. The attachment portion is removably attached to the shoe. The attachment portion has a medial section, and two elongate insert sections at opposite sides of the medial section. The medial section is fixed to an inner side of the aesthetic portion. The insert sections are slidingly engaged in two matching elongate sheaths provided on the shoe. The attachment portion can be made of flexible resilient material. This facilitates convenient insertion of the insert sections into the sheaths, and secure retention of the insert sections in the sheaths. Further or alternatively, the insert sections can be interferingly engaged in the sheaths.
CUSTOMIZABLE SHOE
An improved customizable shoe system that enables a wearer to personalize their shoes. The system includes a shoe including a sole and an upper extending about edges of the sole, and one or more transparent enclosures disposed about the shoe. The one or more enclosures each include an opening. A sheet containing one or more inserts corresponding in size and shape to the one or more enclosures, such that a user can remove the one or more inserts to be housed within the one or more enclosures.
Multiple layer upper for a shoe
The present invention relates to an upper for a shoe, including an inner layer; an outer layer overlapping the inner layer at least partially; wherein the outer layer includes a plurality of cuts; wherein the inner layer includes a plurality of protrusions; wherein each cut at least partially overlaps at least one protrusion; wherein each protrusion causes an extension in width of its corresponding cut when the shoe is worn.
Smartphone-controlled active configuration of footwear, including with concavely rounded soles
A smartphone or other mobile computer device, general purpose or specialized, wherein the smartphone device is configured to actively control the configuration of one or more bladders, compartments, chambers or internal sipes and one or more sensors located in either one or both of a sole or a removable inner sole insert of the footwear of the user and/or located in an apparatus worn or carried by the user, glued unto the user, or implanted in the user. The one or more bladders, compartments, chambers, or sipes, and one or more sensors are configured for computer control. A sole and/or a removable inner sole insert for footwear, including one or more bladders, compartments, chambers, internal sipes and sensors in the sole and/or in a removable insert; or on an insole; all being configured for control by a smartphone or other mobile computer device, general purpose or specialized.
Automated footwear lacing systems, devices, and techniques
In an example, a lacing engine apparatus can include a housing and a drivetrain. The housing can be securable within a footwear article. The drivetrain can include a motor, a sun gear, a planet gear, a rotating ring gear, and a spool. The spool can be secured to the ring gear and can be rotatable therewith. The spool can be configured to control a lace of the footwear article and can be configured to wind the lace as the ring gear rotates in a first direction.
Footwear sole plate with forefoot through hole
A sole structure for an article of footwear may have a midsole system that includes a sole plate having a forefoot region and a midfoot region. The sole plate may have a foot-facing surface and a ground-facing surface opposite to the foot-facing surface. The sole plate may define a through hole extending from the foot-facing surface to the ground-facing surface in the forefoot region. The through hole may be closer to a medial edge of the sole plate than to a lateral edge of the sole plate. The sole plate may have ridges extending longitudinally in the midfoot region and in the forefoot region. The ridges may have crests at least some of which may extend non-parallel with one another in a longitudinal direction of the sole plate.
Item of footwear
The invention relates to an item of footwear in which is provided a mid-sole (10) with features that provide comfort to the wearer when walking. An item of footwear comprising: a sole (1) comprising a mid-sole (10), the mid-sole having a first major surface (11) for facing the foot of a wearer, a second major surface (12) opposite the first, the mid-sole (10) having an inner edge (13) corresponding to the inside of a wearer's foot and an outer edge (14) corresponding to the outside of a wearer's foot; and a securing means for securing the item of footwear to a foot of a wearer such that the first surface (11) of the sole (1) contacts the foot, wherein: the mid-sole (10) has formed therein a plurality of generally transverse grooves (20) and a generally longitudinal primary groove (30a), thereby dividing the sole (1) into an array of lands (50); and the primary groove (30a) is substantially parallel to the outer edge (14) of the sole (1) over a majority of the length of the sole (1) and defines with 15 the transverse grooves (20) a plurality of lands (50).
Sole structure for an article of footwear with first and second midsole bodies
A sole structure for an article of footwear includes a first midsole body and a second midsole body. The first midsole body defines a ground-facing surface and a foot-facing surface opposite the ground-facing surface and includes a first midsole material, which has a first hardness. The second midsole body extends through the first midsole body. As such, the second midsole body extends beyond the ground-facing surface of the first midsole body. The second midsole body includes a second midsole material, which has a second hardness, and the first hardness is greater than the second hardness.
Footwear heel support device
An article of footwear includes an upper defining a foot-receiving cavity with a heel region, and a heel support device extending around the rear of a heel region from a lateral side to a medial side. The heel support device may include a plurality of slats and a base, the plurality of slats providing a progressive gradient of lengths and/or widths, and/or one or more pegs extending from the device for attachment to a footwear upper, and/or an elongated tip that may be disposed in a cavity of an extension of a heel collar of the upper.
