Lubricant containing polyphosphate additives
A lubricating oil composition is described. The composition includes a major amount of a base oil of lubricating viscosity and a polyphosphate-based dispersion. The dispersion includes an ammonium polyphosphate and a dispersing agent.
System, composition and method of application of same for reducing the coefficient of friction and required pulling force during installation of wire or cable
A composition and method for reducing the coefficient of friction and required pulling force of a wire or cable are provided. A composition of aqueous emulsion is provided that is environmentally friendly, halogen free and solvent free. The composition is compatible with various types of insulating materials and may be applied after the wire or cable is cooled and also by spraying or submerging the wire or cable in a bath. The composition contains lubricating agents that provide lower coefficient of friction for wire or cable installation and continuous wire or cable surface lubrication thereafter.
Lubricant composition containing metal alkanoate
This invention relates to a lubricating composition comprising or resulting from the admixing of: base oil, detergent, and one or more metal alkanoates having a quaternary carbon atom at the 2 position, the 2 position, or both the 2 and 2 positions, where the lubricating composition preferably has an adhesive wear of 100 hours or more, a foam volume of 70 ml or less at 24 C., and 50 ml or less at 93.5 C., and, optionally, a total base number of 7 mgKOH/g or more.
Triblock polyalkylene glycols for two phase lubricants
A composition of matter that exhibits two phases at lower temperatures (for example, less than about 50 C.) but only one-phase at higher temperatures (for example, above about 90 C.) is disclosed. The compositions comprise a low viscosity base oil which is a hydrocarbon oil and the high viscosity base oil which is a triblock polyalkylene glycol derived from a copolymer of 1, 2-propylene oxide and 1, 2-butylene oxide in which the PO/BO ratio is from 25/75 to 90/10 percent by weight and has a polymerization sequence of PO-BO-PO.
LUBRICANT COMPOSITION
Provided is a lubricating oil composition having excellent wear resistance, the lubricating oil composition containing a base oil (A), an overbased metal detergent (B), a sulfur-phosphorus extreme pressure agent (C) having a carboxylic acid ester group, and a sulfur-phosphorus extreme pressure agent (D) having a carboxy group at an end.
RENEWABLE BASE STOCK FROM BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS
A base stock composition may include: a naphthene component, wherein the naphthene component comprises a naphthene ring comprising two or more paraffinic branches covalently bonded to the naphthene ring, wherein the naphthene component has a carbon number in a range of C28 to C34; and a branched paraffinic component, wherein the branched paraffinic component comprises a paraffinic backbone with a carbon number in a range of C14 to C22, wherein the branched paraffinic component comprises two or more paraffinic branches covalently bonded to the paraffinic backbone, and wherein the branched paraffinic component has a carbon number in a range of C28 to C36.
