Epilamization method of an element of a timepiece or piece of jewellery

The invention relates to a method for epilamization of at least one portion of a substrate surface comprising the steps of: a) preparing an epilame agent b) optionally, preparing the substrate surface c) placing the substrate and the epilame agent in a chamber at ambient pressure d) introducing CO.sub.2 into the hermetically sealed chamber at a pressure comprised between 25 bar and 74 bar and at a temperature comprised between 10 C. and 80 C. for a duration comprised between 1 minute and 30 minutes, e) reducing the pressure in the chamber, and f) removing the epilamized substrate from the chamber.

Lubricating composition for inhibiting plugging and method of inhibiting plugging using the same

Provided is a lubricating composition for inhibiting plugging including a base oil and any one selected from a fatty acid and an emulsifier, with the lubricating composition forming a single phase even when a carboxylic acid-based monomer is introduced with respect to the base oil. The lubricating composition suppresses plugging occurring in a process of preparing a copolymer derived from the carboxylic acid-based monomer. In addition, also provided is a method of inhibiting plugging using the lubricating composition for inhibiting plugging.

Thixotropic gel or liquid for friction control and method of using the same

A friction control composition having high and positive frictional properties for sliding steel surfaces includes a water insoluble hydrocarbon that enables a reduced water content, a rheological additive, a freezing point depressant, a friction modifier, and a lubricant.

MICROALGAL COMPOSITIONS AND USES THEREOF

Provided are microalgal compositions and methods for their use. The microalgal compositions include lubricants that find use in industrial and other applications.

Coolant for Composite Materials

The present invention concerns a coolant, present as an emulsion in the form of a concentrate, for machining fiber-reinforced plastics and material combinations containing fiber-reinforced plastics and metals; furthermore, the present invention also concerns a coolant, present as a solution in the form of concentrate, for machining fiber-reinforced plastics.

Intergland grease

The present disclosure relates to an intergland grease formed from a base grease and a lubricating intergland grease additive, such as PTFE or a lubricating liquid polymer, such as polybutene. The present disclosure further relates to a roller cone drill bit including such an intergland grease.

To prevent nuisance marine growth in a valve, particularly a ball valve, used to regulate a flow of seawater, a compound for lubricating and preventing nuisance marine growth is provided in the valve. The nuisance marine growth preventing compound includes a substantially uniform mixture of marine grease and an antifouling agent. The compound is introduced into the valve such that the compound is provided between and contacts a valve body and a ball that regulates the flow of seawater within the valve, and inhibits nuisance marine growth at a space between the ball and the valve body which is occupied by the compound.

CUTTING METHOD FOR FIBER REINFORCED COMPOSITE MATERIAL

The present invention provides a cutting method comprising a cutting step of cutting a workpiece material with a cutting tool to thereby form a through-groove in the workpiece material, wherein in the cutting step, the through-groove is formed in the workpiece material by cutting the workpiece material with the cutting tool while contacting a cut-assisting lubricant with the contact portion of the cutting tool with the workpiece material and/or the contact portion of the workpiece material with the cutting tool, and the workpiece material comprises a fiber reinforced composite material.

Microalgal compositions and uses thereof

Provided are microalgal compositions and methods for their use. The microalgal compositions include lubricants that find use in industrial and other applications.
