CIRCULAR ECONOMY FOR PLASTIC WASTE TO POLYETHYLENE AND BASE OIL VIA REFINERY HYDROCRACKING UNIT
Provided is a continuous process for converting waste plastic into recycle for polyethylene polymerization. The process comprises selecting waste plastics containing polyethylene and/or polypropylene and preparing a blend of petroleum and the selected plastic. The amount of plastic in the blend comprises no more than 20 wt. % of the blend. The blend is passed to a refinery hydrocracking unit. A liquid petroleum gas C.sub.3-C.sub.4 olefin/paraffin mixture, and optionally naphtha, is recovered from the hydrocracking unit and passed to a steam cracker to make ethylene. A heavy fraction can also be recovered from the hydrocracking unit and passed to an isomerization dewaxing unit to prepare base oil.
Method of producing lubricating base oil from atmospheric residue in pyrolysis oil derived from waste plastic
Provided are a method of producing a lubricating base oil composition including a) reacting at least a part of waste plastic pyrolysis oil having a boiling point in a range higher than 340° C. to remove impurities and structurally isomerizing the oil; and b) hydroisomerizing at least a part of the product of step a), and a lubricating base oil composition produced therefrom. A lubricating base oil, which has more methyl branches than petroleum-based lubricating base oil, to have improved low-temperature properties may be provided.
Lubricants Having Improved Oxidation And Deposit Control Performance
A method for producing a deposit resistant fluid includes combining a base stock and one or more additives to form a blended fluid configured to resist forming deposits in an oxidizing environment. The base stock has a viscosity index of at least 80, and either a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of at least 320 cSt or a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of at least 14 cSt. The base stock includes greater than or equal to about 90 wt % saturates, less than or equal to about 10 wt % aromatics, and a sum of terminal/pendant propyl groups and terminal/pendant ethyl groups of at least 1.7 per 100 carbon atoms.
Grease composition
A grease composition may be used for speed reducers and speed increasers, being excellent in both torque transmission efficiency and leak prevention performance. The grease composition may contain a base oil (A) and a urea-based thickener (B), which is used for speed reducers and speed increasers, wherein the particles containing the urea-based thickener (B) in the grease composition satisfy the following requirement (I). Requirement (I): the area-based arithmetic average particle diameter of the particles is 2.0 μm or less, as measured by a laser diffraction/scattering method.

Herein is provided a process for combined renewable 1-decene and renewable carboxylic diacid production from a fatty acid ester containing feedstock, wherein the feedstock is first subjected to metathesis reaction conditions, recovery of 1-decene and then to microbial oxidation to yield diacids in a fermentation broth. Diacids of unusual carbon chains lengths are thereby obtainable.
