Phospholipid concentrate manufacturing method
This invention provides a technique that is capable of suppressing variation in the amount of phospholipids obtained in each operation when a phospholipid concentrate is obtained by subjecting an ethanol extract concentrate of livestock or poultry tissue to a degumming step and collecting gum. More specifically, the invention provides a method for producing a phospholipid concentrate from livestock or poultry tissue, comprising step (A) of mixing an ethanol extract concentrate of livestock or poultry tissue with water, the water being in an amount of less than 7 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the concentrate, and step (B) of centrifuging the obtained liquid mixture at 2° C. or lower.
DEVICE FOR AN ELECTRICAL PROCESSING OF A FATTY SUBSTANCE OF PLANT ORIGIN
The present invention relates to a device for electrically processing a fatty substance of plant origin, comprising a series of electrodes (1 and 2) and an enclosure (4), said device being characterised in that the enclosure (4) is provided with at least one electrical connector (5) placed on the outer surface (40) of the enclosure (4), a series of electrical connections for connecting each electrode of said series of electrodes to said electrical connector (5), with the current flow distances of the electrical connections being equal in relation to each other, and a first inlet (6) and a first outlet (7) for the fatty substance, and in that said device comprises a filter (12) having an inlet (13) in fluidic connection with said first fatty-substance outlet (7) of the enclosure (4) and an output (14) in fluidic connection with said first fatty-substance inlet (6) of the enclosure (4).
Apparatus for desubliming or condensing a condensable fluid in a closed space
The invention relates to an apparatus for desubliming, condensing or evaporating a fluid. The apparatus includes a chamber and at least one tubular member for desubliming, condensing or evaporating the fluid on the outer surface of the at least one tubular member. The chamber is provided with at least one inlet for the fluid and at least one outlet for the condensate and/or evaporate, and at least one supply and at least one discharge for a cooling and/or heating fluid. The tubular member includes an outer member and an inner member enclosed within the outer member. The inner member is in communication with the supply at a first end. The outer member is in communication with the discharge at a first end. The outer member is closed at a second end. The inner member is open and mouths into the outer member at a second end.
Processes for obtaining microbial oil from microbial cells
Disclosed herein are processes for obtaining a microbial oil comprising one or more polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) from one or more microbial cells by lysing the cells to form a lysed cell composition and then recovering the oil from the lysed cell composition. Further disclosed herein is microbial oil comprising one or more PUFAs that is recovered from microbial cells by at least one process described herein.
HEMPSEED OIL COMPOSITIONS
The invention disclosed herein generally relates to compositions including hempseed products such as a hempseed powder or oil, modified hempseed, and/or hempseed product extract(s); and methods for making and using the same.
PURIFICATION OF RECYCLED AND RENEWABLE ORGANIC MATERIAL
A method is disclosed of purifying a recycled or renewable organic material, wherein the recycled or renewable organic material contains more than 20 ppm Cl. Exemplary methods include (a) providing the recycled or renewable organic material; (b) purifying the organic recycled or renewable organic material to obtain a purified recycled or renewable organic material, and (c) hydrotreating the purified recycled or renewable organic material in a presence of a hydrotreating catalyst at a temperature from 270 to 380° C. under pressure from 4 to 20 MPa and under continuous hydrogen flow; to obtain purified hydrotreated recycled or renewable organic material.
ENZYMATIC MODIFICATION OF WHEAT PHOSPHOLIPIDS IN BAKERY APPLICATIONS
The present invention relates to a method of making a dough, said method comprises admixing a dough component, a phospholipase A2 enzyme which acts on N-acyl phosphatidyl ethanolamine at the sn2 position, and an enzyme that acts on a polar lipid at the sn1 position. A food enzyme composition comprising: a phospholipase A2 enzyme which is capable of acting on N-acylphosphatidyl ethanolamine at the sn2 position; and an enzyme that acts on a polar lipid at the sn1 position is also taught.
PARTIAL ENZYMATIC HYDROLYSIS OF TRIACYLGLYCEROLS
Disclosed herein are host cells transformed with a nucleic acid molecule comprising a polynucleotide sequence, wherein the polynucleotide sequence encodes a polypeptide that hydrolyzes an ester linkage of a triacylglycerol in an oil comprising at least one long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid, methods for using such host cells, and processes for production of a lipase using such host cells.
