METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF DRIED OLEOSOMES
A method for extracting naturally occurring oil bodies (oleosomes) from a material containing naturally occurring oil bodies (oleosomes) includes the steps of dispersing the material containing oleosomes in an aqueous composition to thereby obtain an aqueous dispersion of material containing oleosomes, extracting oleosomes from the aqueous dispersion of material containing oleosomes to thereby obtain a crude oleosome extract and isolating crude oleosomes from the extract by drying the crude oleosome extract. The dried oleosome powder may be used with a personal care product, a pharmaceutical product or a food product.

PURIFICATION OF BIOMASS-BASED LIPID MATERIAL
A method of purifying biomass-based lipid material, as disclosed includes providing a feed of biomass-based lipid material; optionally drying the feed; removing oxygen from the feed under reduced pressure; heat treating the feed at 180 to 300 C. under reduced pressure to solidify at least part of phosphorous and/or metal containing impurities, simultaneously distilling off at least part of free fatty acids and low molecular weight nitrogen compounds, to obtain at least a fraction containing free fatty acids and low molecular weight nitrogen compounds, and heat treated biomass-based lipid material containing degraded phosphorous and/or metal containing impurities in solid form; and removing the solid degraded phosphorous and/or metal containing impurities from the second fraction.
Compositions for reducing acidity
The present invention provides a composition based on a starch powder (such as flour), wheat germ, SiO.sub.2, MgO, Al.sub.2O.sub.3, Fe.sub.2O.sub.3, and K.sub.2O. This composition is extremely useful in treating acid related disorders and reducing the acidity, removing water, deodorizing, from plant oil and extending the oils shelf life of 3-5 years instead of the average one-year available.

Nut oil separation system and method and products resulting therefrom
A system and method for the separation of nut or seed oil from shelled nuts or seeds are disclosed. The method comprises the grinding of shelled nuts or seeds and at least one carbohydrate for a length of time sufficient to promote nut or seed oil separation, leaving behind defatted nut or seed dough that can be further processed into a food product such as snack bar or nut milk.
