Processes for producing hydrocarbon products
The present invention relates to processes for producing industrial products such as hydrocarbon products from non-polar lipids in a vegetative plant part. Preferred industrial products include alkyl esters which may be blended with petroleum based fuels.
RENEWABLE HYDROCARBON COMPOSITION
The present invention provides a composition comprising 10-40 mass % of C.sub.8-30 linear alkanes, up to 20 mass % of C.sub.7-20 aromatic hydrocarbons, at least 90 mass % of which are monoaromatic, and no more than 1 mass % in total of oxygen-containing compounds; wherein the total amount of C.sub.8-30 alkanes in the composition is 50-95 mass %, and the total amount of C.sub.8-30 alkanes, C.sub.7-20 aromatic hydrocarbons and C.sub.8-30 cycloalkanes is at least 95 mass %; wherein the composition comprises 45-90 mass % in total of C.sub.8-30 cycloalkanes and C.sub.8-30 branched alkanes; and wherein the amounts are based on the mass of the composition. Also provided is a method of producing the composition comprising the step of hydroprocessing a biological feedstock using a catalyst and the step of fractionating the product of the hydroprocessing step.
OIL COMPOSITIONS
A refined oil composition having a reduced 3-MCPD ester and/or glycidyl ester content and methods of preparation thereof.
BLOWN AND STRIPPED BLEND OF SOYBEAN OIL AND CORN STILLAGE OIL
A method for producing a high viscosity, low volatiles blown stripped oil blend is provided. The method may include the steps of: (i) obtaining an oil blend of corn stillage oil and soybean oil having a weight ratio of corn stillage oil to soybean oil of from about 1:2 to 3:1; (ii) heating the oil blend to at least 90 C.; (iii) passing air through the heated oil blend to produce a blown oil having a viscosity of at least 50 cSt at 40 C.; and (iv) stripping the blown oil from step (iii) to reduce an acid value of the blown oil to less than 5.0 mg KOH/gram.
METHOD FOR A COMBINED CELL DIGESTION AND EXTRACTION OF OIL-CONTAINING SEEDS
The invention relates to a method of combined cell digestion and extraction of oil-containing seeds having an oil content of >30% by mass, wherein production of a slurry from the oilseeds and ethanol is followed by a combination cell digestion with a subsequent ethanolic extraction, wherein the smaller portion of the oil of the oilseed and the alcohol-soluble constituents present therein are dissolved in the ethanol in accordance with the dissolution capacity of the ethanol for the oil and the alcohol-soluble constituents, a greater portion of the oil is displaced from the seed cells by the ethanol, forming a free oil phase in the ethanol. The free oil phase is removed and, according to the invention, has semi-raffinate quality, reducing the complexity of refining as an advantage of the method of the invention.
System and method for rice bran oil refinement
This application provides an oil refining system and method, including a water circulation system with a chilled water circulation unit including chilled water equipment and a chilled water pipeline, a hot water circulation unit including hot water equipment and a hot water pipeline, and an ambient temperature water circulation unit including an ambient temperature water pipeline. The oil refining system further includes a deacidification system, deodorization system, and a decoloration system to implement a systematization and automation of oil refining.
Process for the preparation of fatty acid alkyl esters
The present invention broadly relates to a process for preparing fatty acid alkyl esters from fat-containing feedstocks using sulfonated fatty acid catalysts.
Process for the preparation of fatty acid alkyl esters
The present invention broadly relates to a process for preparing fatty acid alkyl esters from fat-containing feedstocks using sulfonated fatty acid catalysts.
IMMOBILIZED ENZYME FIBER REACTOR AND OIL REFINING USING THE SAME
An immobilized enzyme fiber reactor includes a plurality a fibers disposed within a hollow conduit. The fibers have an enzyme, such as a phospholipase, attached thereto. The enzymes can be attached to the fibers via an anchor group and, optionally, a bifunctional crosslinker. The enzymes can be applied, stripped, and reapplied without disassembling the reactor or discarding the fibers. The immobilized enzyme fiber reactor can be used to treat oils including phospholipids, such as soybean oil, and reduce an impurity content thereof.
METHOD FOR CONTINUOUS EXTRACTION OF EXTRA-VIRGIN ARGAN OIL FOR MULTIPLE USES
The present invention relates to a method and a set of devices installed in series in a linked manner for the extraction of extra-virgin argan oil from argan fruit, and of other oleaginous (Barbary fig seed, grapeseed, almond walnut, avocado, cherry, sunflower seed, avocado, etc.) oils, making it possible to reduce the production time while guaranteeing the quality level of the product and a better yield. These oils have various uses and applications: food, cosmetic and therapeutic oils. The invention makes it possible to obtain a quality extra-virgin argan oil without chemical transformation and destruction.
