A METHOD OF PRODUCING FATTY ALCOHOLS
A method of producing fatty alcohols comprises: introducing a fatty alcohol feedstock stream to a distillation column; forming a light outlet stream and a heavy outlet stream; condensing at least a portion of the light outlet stream to form a reflux stream; returning the reflux stream to a reflux inlet of the distillation column at a reflux ratio of greater than or equal to 2; and recovering a fatty alcohol product stream from an outlet of the distillation column, wherein the fatty alcohol product stream comprises a first mass percentage of the first fatty alcohol species (M), and a second mass percentage of the second fatty alcohol species (M2), and wherein a fatty alcohol mass ratio (M.sub.1/M.sub.2) of the fatty alcohol product stream is the first mass percentage divided by the second mass percentage, and wherein the fatty alcohol mass ratio is greater than or equal to 2.0.
OILS AND FATS
Oils and fats containing 10 to 80 mass % of 1,3-distearoyl-2-oleoylglycerol (SOS) and including a triple chain length -type SOS crystal are provided. In the measurement of the X-ray diffraction of the triple chain length -type SOS crystal, the diffraction peak A corresponding to spacing of 3.95 to 4.05 , the diffraction peak B corresponding to spacing of 3.80 to 3.95 , the diffraction peak C corresponding to spacing of 3.70 to 3.80 , and the diffraction peak D corresponding to spacing of 3.60 to 3.70 are observed. The ratio of the diffraction intensity of the diffraction peak C to the diffraction intensity of the diffraction peak D is 0.35 or less.
Extraction apparatus
An extraction apparatus comprises an extraction vessel configured to remove an extracted material from a source material in contact with a process fluid to form a mixture. The apparatus further comprises a separation chamber and a process fluid circulation conduit, the conduit comprising a separation portion configured to receive the mixture and permit a portion of the extracted material to separate from the mixture within the separation chamber. The apparatus further comprises a temperature regulator configured to permit re-circulation of a temperature regulation fluid and regulate the temperature of the process fluid.
Concentrated Solution of 17-Hydroxydocosahexaenoic Acid
A method of treating a mother having postpartum depression, comprising administering to the mother a composition comprising a plurality of mixed self-assemblies comprising: i) at least 50 wt % of a soyasaponin, and ii) allopregnanolone.
Oil or fat composition and chocolate
A chocolate having good solidification properties, a high mold releasability and a high crystal stabilization rate, said chocolate being obtained by using an oil or fat composition wherein StOSt and POP triglycerides are contained each in a definite amount or more and StLSt, PLP, StStO and PPO triglycerides are contained each in a definite amount or less. As a result, the productivity of the chocolate can be increased.
Compositions of cosmetic, personal care and skin care products derived from lipid feedstocks and methods to produce the same
Lipid compositions and lipid compositions included in cosmetic products, personal care products, skin care products, nutraceuticals, bio fuels, bio-lubricants, oleo chemicals, nutritional products, other bio-products, and animal feed compositions. Concentrations of lipid components. A method of removing and recovering a lipid composition by mixing a lipid feedstock with a solvent, separating the mixture into a raffinate phase and an extract phase containing beneficial non-glyceride compounds, removing solvent from the extract phase and obtaining a concentrate phase, and recovering a lipid composition from the concentrate phase. A method of producing a fatty acid alkyl ester. A method of producing a distiller's product. A method of performing secondary extractions and recovering a lipid composition by performing a first extraction on a lipid feedstock, performing a second extraction on a lipid feedstock, and exploiting differences in solubility limits to create unique product fractions derived from naturally occurring lipids.
Recovery of tocopherols/tocotrienols, carotenoids, glycerols, sterols and fatty acid esters from crude vegetable oil and the process thereof
A process for recovering tocotrienols/tocopherols, carotenoids and sterols from crude vegetable oil, characterised in that prior to the recovery steps, the amount of the free fatty acids in the oil is reduced to 3.50% by weight by distillation or neutralization.
SOLVENTLESS WINTERIZATION OF MICROBIAL OIL
Provided herein are methods for winterizing oil. The methods include heating the oil to a first temperature and maintaining the oil at the first temperature for a first period of time; reducing the first temperature of the oil after the first period of time to a second temperature over a second period of time, wherein reducing the first temperature produces a first solid fraction and first liquid fraction of the oil; removing the first solid fraction from the oil; reducing the second temperature of the first liquid fraction of the oil over a third period of time to a third temperature, wherein reducing the second temperature of the oil produces a second solid fraction and second liquid fraction of the oil; removing the second solid fraction from the oil; and recovering the second liquid fraction of the oil.
System and process for palm oil extraction by cracking, threshing and dynamic sterilization of the fresh fruit
The present invention patent application belongs to the field of mechanical engineering and consists of a system and process for palm oil extraction integrally configured for processing the entire fresh fruit (rachis, spikes and seeds or fruits) by stages of cracking, threshing, dynamic sterilization and subsequent pressing. Said disclosed system and process allow increasing the percentage of oil extraction with less equipment and a smaller workspace compared to that required by the already known conventional processes, as well as using smaller amounts of water and energy. Additionally, the disclosed system and process allow obtaining sterilized plant material with low humidity, which may be used as organic matter for composting or as fuel of the extraction system itself.
Oil Crystallization Promoter, Preparation Method Therefor and Use Thereof
