Timed Candle Wick System
A timed candle wick system which causes the flame of a candle to self-extinguish at predetermined periods of time. As part of the burning process, a new candle wick is automatically exposed prior to the extinguishment of the previous candle wick. Upon extinguishment of the previous candle wick, the newly exposed candle wick is ready to be relit without any other intervention by the user. The extinguishment of each wick is affected by an automatic, mechanical tumbling process that causes the wick to fall into the molten wax, depriving the flame of oxygen and extinguishing the candle. The wick rejuvenation process is affected by aligning two or more series of wicks, side-by-side, such that each wick segment of each wick series is overlapping a corresponding wick segment parallel to it, but is offset such as to maintain continuity of the wick burning process.
Tealight cup
A tealight cup for holding a combustible candle has a a side wall, a base with a flat central area, at least two bulges positioned around the flat central area, wherein the bulges have a height (h) of at least 10% of the height (H) of the side wall and are positioned around the flat central area circumferentially along a common circumference and have a total volume equal to at least 10% of the volume of the part of the cup from the base to the height (h) of the bulges.
Keepsake creation kit and method
A kit enabling creation of a personal keepsake by at least one user and methods of using same. A first container is openable by a user, and a plurality of candles are enclosed in the first container. Each candle has a wick at one end and an opposite end having a base width. The kit further includes a second container which is openable by the user, and a plurality of tubes enclosed in the second container. Each tube has at least one end which is initially open and defines a chamber having a chamber width and a chamber length to receive a storage medium, the initially open end adapted to receive the base width of one of the candles.
Wax compositions and the effect of metals on burn rates
A wax composition is disclosed, comprising a hydrogenated natural oil with (i) at least about 50 wt % of a triacylglycerol component having a fatty acid composition from about 14 to about 25 wt % C16:0 fatty acid, about 45 to about 60 wt % C18:1 fatty acid and about 20 to about 30 wt % C18:0 fatty acid, (ii) a nickel content of less than 1 ppm, and (iii) a melt point of about 49° C. to about 57° C. The hydrogenated natural oil is filtered and/or bleached to obtain a nickel content of less than 0.5 ppm. A candle is also disclosed, comprising a wick and the above described wax.
Wax Compositions Comprising Linear Olefin Dimers or Hydrogenated Variants Thereof and Methods for Production Thereof
Wax compositions may be obtained by subjecting one or more linear alpha olefins to olefin metathesis and optionally hydrogenating. The wax compositions comprise: a hydrocarbon substance comprising a linear olefin dimer formed from a first linear alpha olefin having m carbon atoms and a second linear alpha olefin having n carbon atoms, a hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated reaction product of the linear olefin dimer, or any combination thereof, the first linear alpha olefin and the second linear alpha olefin being the same or different, and the linear olefin dimer comprising two carbon atoms less than a sum of m and n; wherein m and n are independently selected integers each ranging from 12 to 100; and wherein the wax composition has a melting point of 25° C. or greater.
Remote controllable auto-ignition candle and control system thereof
Provided are a remote controllable auto-ignition candle and a control system thereof, and more particularly, a remote controllable auto-ignition candle including a wick portion performing combustion after ignition and including a wick made of a conductive material; a first communication unit communicating with a user terminal in a wired or wireless manner; a control unit controlling an ignition state of the wick portion according to a control signal received through the first communication unit; and an ignition means generating a discharge to the wick so that the wick portion is ignited according to a control of the control unit.
A SEALED PACKAGE FOR STACKABLE CANDLES
A packaging system for candles, comprising an enclosure which consists a candle with one or more wicks; a cover to which an opening handle is connected, for opening the enclosure before use; a rigid lighting surface connected to the inner surface of the enclosure's cover, for lighting the candle by friction; matches for lighting the candle by rubbing with the rigid lighting surface; a sticker or slots for affixing the matches to the inner surface of the enclosure's cover, near the lighting surface.
GEL CANDLES
Disclosed are candles having a wick, a wax composition, and a gel composition, wherein the wax composition encloses the wick, and the wick is separated from the gel composition. The candle while being burned exhibits one or more desirable properties, such as reduced levels of soot or reduced emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
BIODEGRADABLE CANDLE DESIGNS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
Candles and methods of making the same where the materials used in making the candles are all biodegradable and/or compostable. Candles which include a candle body vessel made from bamboo and filled with a wax or combinations of waxes which are selected for their ability to adhere to bamboo, the remains of which may be disposed of via composting once the candles have reached the end of their useful life.
