The present invention provides a topical formulation and method of use where the formulation comprises macqui berry or a macqui berry extract containing anthocyanins having a very high oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC). The formulation provides the macqui berry in a stabilized form which includes a glucuronide or glycuronide, a photostabilizing agent, encapsulation, or light- and/or air-blocking packaging.

An apparatus for automatically straightening a candle wick inside a receptacle containing a fusible combustible material in the solidification phase is provided that includes a detection system operable to detect an initial position of the wick inside the receptacle, a movable gripping system operable to grasp and displace the wick, and a control system connected to the detection system to drive it in a detecting manner and receive the initial position. The control system is connected to the gripping system to drive it in a gripping and displacing manner, from a rest configuration to an initial configuration in which the gripping system grasps the wick in its initial position and then to a final configuration in which the gripping system has vertically straightened the wick.

WAX COMPOSITIONS AND THE EFFECT OF METALS ON BURN RATES

A wax composition is disclosed, comprising a hydrogenated natural oil with (i) at least about 50 wt % of a triacylglycerol component having a fatty acid composition from about 14 to about 25 wt % C16:0 fatty acid, about 45 to about 60 wt % C18:1 fatty acid and about 20 to about 30 wt % C18:0 fatty acid, (ii) a nickel content of less than 1 ppm, and (iii) a melt point of about 49° C. to about 57° C. The hydrogenated natural oil is filtered and/or bleached to obtain a nickel content of less than 0.5 ppm. A candle is also disclosed, comprising a wick and the above described wax.

WAX COMPOSITIONS AND THE EFFECT OF METALS ON BURN RATES

A wax composition is disclosed, comprising a hydrogenated natural oil with (i) at least about 50 wt % of a triacylglycerol component having a fatty acid composition from about 14 to about 25 wt % C16:0 fatty acid, about 45 to about 60 wt % C18:1 fatty acid and about 20 to about 30 wt % C18:0 fatty acid, (ii) a nickel content of less than 1 ppm, and (iii) a melt point of about 49° C. to about 57° C. The hydrogenated natural oil is filtered and/or bleached to obtain a nickel content of less than 0.5 ppm. A candle is also disclosed, comprising a wick and the above described wax.
