Pressure Manifold and Culture Module

A perfusion manifold assembly is described that allows for perfusion of a microfluidic device, such as an organ on a chip microfluidic device comprising cells that mimic cells in an organ in the body, that is detachably linked with said assembly so that fluid enters ports of the microfluidic device from a fluid reservoir, optionally without tubing, at a controllable flow rate.

A culture module is contemplated that allows the perfusion and optionally mechanical actuation of one or more microfluidic devices, such as organ-on-a-chip microfluidic devices comprising cells that mimic at least one function of an organ in the body.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL CELL CULTURE PLATFORM AND USES THEREOF
20220403315 · 2022-12-22 ·

A three-dimensional cell culture platform includes a cell supporting medium having at least one microwell formed therein; and one or more microwell spacers defining an entrance of the or each microwell, the entrance enabling the introduction of a cell culture medium into the or each microwell. The volume of a microwell is determined by a surface of the one or more microwell spacers defining the entrance of the microwell, and by an interface of the cell supporting medium of the microwell. The one or more microwell spacers are in direct contact with the cell supporting medium prior to one or more cells being delivered to the three-dimensional cell culture platform.

PLANT FAT-BASED SCAFFOLDS FOR THE GROWTH OF CELL-BASED MEATS AND METHODS OF MAKING SUCH PRODUCTS

A plant fat-based scaffold for growing cell-based meat products for consumption. The scaffold comprises primarily plant fats or waxes in addition to cell binding proteins and optional additional components that assist in the growth of cultivated animal cells. The scaffold can exist in both a liquified state during sterilization and a solid state during the formation of the scaffold, the seeding of the cultivated cells, and the cellular growth phase. The scaffold is capable of remaining in the final product for consumption or is partially or completely melted out of the final product and recycled into raw material for forming new scaffolds.

A device to aid in the production and regeneration of tissues and organs, standing alone, or on or inside of the human body, with a method of fabrication of tissues and organs and use of the device.

System and method for transferring tissue

A transfer device designed to extract an amorphous or semi-solid structure, tissue, or construct from supporting media while maintaining the spatial integrity/organizational architecture thereof. The transfer device can include a controller, an actuator assembly, a plunger, and a needle. The controller can move the transfer device and the plunger independently.

BIOREACTOR AND RELATED METHODS

An apparatus for culturing cells includes a bioreactor. The bioreactor may be modular and may include in a chamber a fixed bed, such as an unstructured or structured fixed bed (such as a spiral bed) for culturing cells, with a return column arranged centrally within the chamber. The modular bioreactor may include a plurality of structured fixed bed arranged in a stacked configuration. The modular bioreactor may include an outer casing forming a space for conditioning (e.g., insulating, heating, cooling) at least a chamber in which cells are cultured. The bioreactor may also include an impeller with radially curved blades, and may also suspend the impeller so that it may move from side-to-side and align with an external drive. Related methods are also disclosed.

BIOREACTOR APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR IN-VITRO HEART SIMULATION

An apparatus comprising an actuator for moving an actuator rod and a bioreactor vessel is disclosed herein. The bioreactor vessel comprises a container for holding a liquid, a mounting for mounting a tissue sample in the container, and, an actuator coupling to enable the actuator rod to be connected for applying mechanical force to the tissue sample. The apparatus also comprises a seat, fixed with respect to the actuator and configured for locating the reactor vessel in a location selected so that the actuator can be connected for applying said force via the actuator coupling. The reactor vessel is removable from the apparatus.
