MODULAR, CONFIGURABLE BIOREACTOR SYSTEM FOR A MANUFACTURING LINE

A configurable system for repeatably performing processes related to tissue growth in a controlled environment, possibly part of an industrial production line. The system can accommodate various sizes and shapes of culture vessels, and can maintain the cells at a desired temperature in the culture vessels, thus enabling a plug and play system that can produce consistent and repeatable results. The system includes gas management, fluid management, and control of multiple processes simultaneously, and can be automatically operably coupled with a variety of supporting technologies that can enable tissue-related processes. The system can communicate with supporting technologies upstream and downstream on a manufacturing line, enabling fully automated process control, centralized data historization, and centralized control.

Bioreactor Monitoring System using Spectrophotometer

A monitoring system for a bioreactor is disclosed. The monitoring system includes a cuvette arranged to receive a fluid from a bioreactor, wherein the fluid includes a portion of a biomass. The system further includes a light source arranged to project light, at wavelengths absorbable by the biomass, into the cuvette. A sensor is arranged to detect portions of the light that are not absorbed by the biomass. The system further includes a controller coupled to receive an indication of an amount of light detected by the sensor. The indication of the amount of detected light is usable to determine an amount of biomass in the cuvette.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING CULTURE VESSEL, AND CULTURE VESSEL

In the production of a culture vessel in which a low cell-adhesive polymer as a coating agent is applied to a culture surface having a plurality of concave parts formed thereon, a use amount of the coating agent can be reduced. The low cell-adhesive polymer as the coating agent is applied to a surface of a culture base material in advance, and subsequently the culture base material is subjected to processing to form the culture vessel having the surface of the culture base material coated with the coating agent as the culture surface.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR HIGH-THROUGHPUT CELL PROCESSING
20220204908 · 2022-06-30 ·

Described herein are methods and systems for cell processing or, more specifically, for introducing various payloads into cells. These methods and systems use a mechanoporation approach in which cells are rapidly compressed and then released to relax while absorbing the payload. More specifically, these methods and systems enable high-throughput mechanoporation with various clogging mitigation features. A cell processing apparatus comprises a shell with an inner shell cylindrical surface, a core with an outer core cylindrical surface, and ridges, supported on and protruding away from one of the inner shell cylindrical surface and the outer core cylindrical surface. The core is disposed inside the shell. The outer core cylindrical surface is concentric with the inner shell cylindrical surface. Each of the ridges forms a ridge gap with the other one of the inner shell cylindrical surface and the outer core cylindrical surface.

METHOD FOR CULTIVATING MICROALGAL BIOMASS AND APPARATUS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION THEREOF

The invention relates to a process and equipment for cultivating and producing a biomass from microalgae, primarily plankton. A microalgal biomass is cultivated in a single bioreactor chamber in the shape of a vertically oriented parallelepiped. The culture mixture is illuminated by artificial light sources mounted on the inner side of one of the broad walls of the bioreactor chamber in horizontal rows throughout the height of the bioreactor chamber. The culture mixture is illuminated cyclically. Spray heads are mounted on the inner side of the opposite wall of the bioreactor chamber so that 4 spray heads are arranged symmetrically around each artificial light source. The pH value of the culture mixture is maintained in a range of 8.5-9.5 by the addition thereto of a lactic acid bacteria-containing solution at the beginning of each light cycle in an amount of 1-3 ml per litre of culture mixture, said solution having a pH value selected in a range of 4.0-5.0.
