N-Glycosylation

The present invention relates to a mammalian cell comprising a gene encoding a polypeptide of interest, wherein the polypeptide of interest is expressed comprising one or more posttranslational modification patterns. These modifications are useful for example in glycoprotein production where the antibodies with the modifications have an enhanced antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). The present invention also relates to methods for producing the glycoproteins and compositions comprising the glycoproteins, and their uses.

Variable regions for NKp46 binding proteins

NKp-46-binding immunoglobulin variable regions, and proteins such as antibodies and multispecific proteins that comprise the variable regions are provided. The proteins can bind and specifically redirect NK cells to lyse a target cell of interest. The proteins have utility in the treatment of disease, notably cancer or infectious disease.

METABOLICALLY OPTIMIZED CELL CULTURE

An improved method for large scale production of proteins and/or polypeptides in cell culture is provided. In accordance with the present invention, the method provides for culturing cells that have metabolically shifted. The use of such a method or system allows high levels of protein or polypeptide production and reduces accumulation of unwanted metabolic waste such as lactate. Proteins and polypeptides expressed in accordance with the present invention may be advantageously used in the preparation of pharmaceutical, immunogenic, or other commercial biologic compositions, such as antibodies.

Genome-wide rationally-designed mutations leading to enhanced lysine production in E. coli

The present disclosure relates to various different types of variants in E. coli coding and noncoding regions leading to enhanced lysine production for, e.g., supplements and nutraceuticals.

YEAST STAGE TANK INCORPORATED FERMENTATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
20210024964 · 2021-01-28 ·

Methods of and system for growing and maintaining an optimized/ideal active yeast solution in the yeast tank and fermenter tank during the fermentation filling cycle are provided. A new yeast stage tank is used between the yeast tank and the fermenter tank allowing yeast to rapidly produce a huge amount of active young yeast cells for a fermenter during the filling period. A measurable and useful controlling factor, % DT/% Yeast by weight ratio (or food to yeast ratio), is used (e.g., % DT=glucose), which offers information on the health status of the yeast. The controlling factor is used to control the status of the yeast throughout the entire process.

CELLS AND METHOD OF CELL CULTURE

The invention relates to a method of cell culture where the cells are modified to reduce the level of synthesis of growth and/or productivity inhibitors by the cell. The invention also relates to a method of cell culture for improving cell growth and productivity, in particular in fed-batch culture of mammalian cells at high cell density. The invention further relates to a method of producing cells with improved cell growth and/or productivity in cell culture and to cells obtained or obtainable by such methods.

MDCK SUSPENSION CELL LINES IN SERUM-FREE, CHEMICALLY-DEFINED MEDIA FOR VACCINE PRODUCTION

Disclosed is an adapted Madin-Darby canine kidney cell line capable of suspension culture in the absence of serum, and a chemically-defined medium for culture of the adapted MDCK cell line. Further disclosed are culture methods for growing the adapted MDCK cell line and methods for producing a vaccine from the adapted MDCK cell line grown in the chemically-defined medium.
